I bet Federer was laughing not at Nadal, but at Rosols slugfest, go for broke, all or nothing play and his pulling it of. I could not help doing the same in the 5. set (did not see the match from the beginning).

This exact same thing happened to Federer in Shanghai Masters Cup 2007 in the round robin stage against Fernando Gonzales who went into full tear BOSS mode and hammered nuclear missiles and they were all landing in!
Those forehands were ridiculous!

I think a highlight reel can support Fed's "laughing" remark: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRBRcoP2F38

The commentators were laughing, too. Not at Nadal, but at how insanely good this Rosol guy (who????) was playing

Not Nadal, I assure you.

@Povl is right. Fed was NOT laughing at Nadal, as a lot of Nadfans have tried to make it.

Federer said that while his opinion is nothing against Nadal on a personal level, it was good to see that upsets are still possible.

"I think 15 years ago you had matches like this so much more often on the faster surfaces, that a guy could catch fire and just run through you," Federer said. "Today it's virtually impossible because you make so many more returns these days and conditions are so much slower with the elements. Whereas it was just amazing to see that it was possible. Okay, he didn't play like that for five sets, but in the fifth it was just a joke. I was laughing because of his performance for 10 minutes after that. I couldn't believe that he pulled it off the way he did. Of course I do feel bad for Rafa because it's a tough loss; it's Wimbledon; it's the way things happen."

Shouldnt Fed be more classy ?

Before we launch a Fed vs Nadal vs Djoko war, please think how the forum would react if Novak or Nadal had said 'It is good to see an upset' if Fed lost to Julien B ?
Fed was celebrating that Nadal was out of his way. He made some crass comments as well in 2009 when Rafa lost RG early. The truth about Fed is that he never had an ounce of class. Completely media fabricated image that never had any truth to it.

He only needed a quarter of an ounce to be the most popular, have most fans and win a record 10 straight Fan Favorite awards.

Not just media, but peer fabricated too. Not like the people around him know what they are talking about him, right? The fact that virtually all of his fellow players respect him says nothing. Or the testimonies of many fans, luminaries of the game and people involved in the game, the vast majority of which are brimming with praise. Or his humanitarian efforts, coolness on the court (for the most part), dedication to the game, and dedication to his wife and children.

Honestly, you talk about Federer the same way some people talk about Mike Tyson. He's done far, far more right than he has wrong, yet you fail to see any of that.

^^^^This article says a lot about Federer's true nature.

Do you honestly believe that gif is real? Do you really think Roger was staying awake at odd time in the night that too wearing suit and laughing at Rafa losing? He would have slept early as he had a match next day

Ridiculous assumptions

I couldn't read it since I don't have login id. Do I have to pay anything to create an account to read that?

Fed's laugh sure got him some serious bad karma, he only went on to win the Wimbledon title after that evil laugh!
