Up till RG, here are what they have to defend:

Ferrer:

AO 360 + IW 45 + Miami 180 + Rome 360 + Madrid 180 + Acalpulco 500 + Barcelona 300 = 2225

Nadal: IW 360 + Miami 360 + MC 1000 + Madrid 90+ Rome 1000 + Barcelona 500 = 3410

So to sum up, Nadal is 1000 point behind (after AO point drops) and ~ 1200 more points to defend => a total of 2200 points to cover

....which I dont see as a very likely, and maybe very interesting too. Also, it marks the first time since 2005 Nadal is not seeded 1 or 2 at the clay slam.
Nadal won't be in the top 8 seeds at RG

Exactly!

The guy who draws Nadal in QF is gonna lose points.

some people on this boards talk as the guy will never lose again at roland garros. i only believe that if he quits tennis and never play again. because if his career is not over (i hope not) and he keeps playing there for a few more years, YES he is going to lose. it might not be this year, but at some point it is going to happen. having that in mind, i think 2013 is a good year for it to happen, and i think nadal does not want to play the top 3 back to back to back. djokovic alone could beat him, so ...

Djoko hasn't proved yet that he could beat Rafa at RG. Jury is still out on that one.

Can't wait to bet a large amount of money on Nadal to win the French Open. His odds will be nice and juicy this year.
