Angell TC95 vs Volkl pb10 mid and Volkl C10 pro

I'm interested in Angell TC95 (320g, 9pt. hl, 16x19, 27.5 lenght). Can somebody do a comparison between these racquets? Thanks!

I just received my Angell TC95. Nice looking, but stringing was VERY difficult. The foam they use to fill the frame clogged the grommets. Also, it'd be nice if they offered replacement grommets, as they are fused with the bumper. Just a head's up...

Still cool racquet and is exactly the specs you select from the website.

Something is not right if the foam is clogging up the grommets.

Also if they are just like Vantages, grommets should come in 4 pieces: 2 sides, bumper and throat.

Only thing tough about stringing is the last cross which gets blocked by 2 strings. If you're using multi or something soft, it can get very difficult unless you use measures to prevent blockage.

I only have experience with Vantges and not Angell.

I actually own all 3 frames haha. It depends and what you like really. They're all tremendous sticks. The mid got to be a little too demanding, especially on serve, at least for me. Thus, the reason I switched to the 95-98 headsize of the C10 and Angell.

I actually just got my Angell last week so I hope I'm not just going through the honeymoon phase when I post this. But it is definitely my favorite of the 3. My specs are similar to yours. 70 RA 16x19 27.25" 10 Pts. HL 11.4 Oz.

It's a baseliners dream frame. Honestly, it has a great amount of power and spin, but the frame is stiff enough that the control is tremendous, especially going for angles. Whatever I want the frame to do, it does. It gives out what you put into your shots.

Though I will warn you, that weight with 7-8ish HL balance with the .5 extended length is going to be a monster to have to swing. These frames do swing through the air very easily, but my sw is in the 330-340 range. I'd imagine yours would be up there as well.

Obviously a lot depends on the specs you pick out for your Angell frame when comparing the two.

They're similar feeling frames, carbon fiber/graphite filled. The reason I switched from the C10 was I felt there was a smallish sweet spot. Being a flexy frame, hits outside the center, you could really feel it give, felt a little unforgiving, or "dead." Which several others have commented on as well.

But, because of the more flexible frame, there is more dwell time, a more plush feel at impact, and it does produce a little more spin than my Angell does. Not as much pop as the TC95 but still packs a good punch.

Touch Shots/Volleys- I would give the edge to the Volkl. Being a softer setup this is a given, very good touch from this frame. Great volleys and very maneuverable. The Angell I'm still getting used to at net. There's a little adjustment with the extended length, but I have hit several very good penetrating volleys with it.

Serves- Both are very very good on serve. I'd give the edge to the Angell here tho. Again with everything, a little adjustment, but so far this is just the best serving frame I have hit with. Huge first serves. Great placement and control too.

Overall, I'd say the Angell for a Big server/baseliner like myself. I come to the net several times a game, but the baseline is where my home is.

The Volkl for a more all court player. Very good baselining frame but if you're a touch player or come to the net frequently, it shines.

So to each his own. After playing with the PB10 Mid, then the C10, I was ready for a stiffer, more lively feeling frame. The Angell just does what I like to do a little better

I agree that Angell/Vantage definitely serves big. Great feel on the grounds too.

I was curious about c10 because I think Chris at TW mentioned that it has more pop than Wilson six-one 95.

Hmmm... I havent hit with the Wilson so I can't say for sure. I have strung them a lot and they look like quality frames and feel great in hand. Definitely would be on my list to try.

The C10 is a powerful frame tho, no doubt. The Angell is more solid/more plow.

Can't go wrong with any IMO.

Personally I'd go with Vantage Intl rather than Angell if you're looking to go that route. I know for a fact Vantage's quality has stayed high and their customer service is nails. I can't say for sure about Angell one way or the other.

to be clear here vantage and angell are the same, the company name changed from vantage to angell this year
