A actually don't find Ferrer that boring. Don't know why, but I can easily watch him play.
If you find Ferrer boring, then you'll find 90% of tennis players boring. Semi-aggressive baseline grinding is the norm. I'm amazed at how similar everyone plays and how the matches basically look the same. The very top players have some added "wow" shots that make them more interesting, and, of course, the top players are playing each other when there is MUCH more at stake, so the occasion makes it more interesting - Murray vs. Djokovic in the USO -two stars playing for a huge title = exciting. But, if they played exactly the same way and they were just starting out their careers and I didn't really know them, and this was a second round match in San Jose, it would be somewhat boring. |

Ferrer is not playing to impress fans. He plays to win and grinds it out there. If possible, I will take a page out of Ferrer's book and use it against my opponents.

I like to watch Ferrer. It makes the opponent come up with special things to beat him. He is a great sounding board to another top player. To me, a Ferrer/Berdych matchup is great.

Admittedly I'd rather watch a Rosol/Soderling/Del Potro over someone like Ferrer, but otherwise I find him quite interesting.
It's the time between points that makes todays game occasionally tedious to me though, not the opposing playing styles.

Ferrer is fantastic to watch. The way he moves his opponents around the court is outstanding and a lesson to all tennis players who can't just blow their opponents off the court.
He is super energised, positive and cunning when he plays - traits which I think make him highly entertaining to watch.

He's OK. I just cringe when he pays the price for lacking the firepower to rip the forehand like the top 4.

ferrer is actually not that fast, when he is ran into his BH he is often just pushing it back because he is out pof Position. his strength is taking the middle and then making the Opponent run like crazy. ferrer is the most exhausting Opponent to Play, 2 sets against him are like 4 sets against a normal Player however he doesn't have that ability to create pressure out of the Corners that the top 4 have. out of the middle of the court he is really offensive but pushed into the Corners he cannot do much with the ball. however the Players outside the top4 usually are not able to push him into the Corners since they are themselves forced to hit on the run |

He really is a guy who maxed out his talent and ability. that said, I only watch ferrer because of his opponents and not the player himself.

Ferrer is good to watch on hardcourts.
Not on anything else. |

It's always enjoyable whenever there is a key match between Ferrer and Berdych or Ferrer and Del Petro, and 90% of people here have already penciled one of the 6'5ers in for the next round. Then Ferrer proceeds to slaughter them in straights.

Yeah, Ferrer is often NIGHTMARE for Ferrer and Berdych. And he doesn't just outdefend them.

Ferrer is a nightmare for Rafa off clay much like Davydenko is if you actually pay attention to their hardcourt matches. Their AO 2011 match showed Nadal having a massive amount of difficulty trying to outdefend and outhit Ferrer and that's BEFORE Nadal injured himself in the match. Injury or not, Nadal wasn't going to leave the stadium that night without a war. Because of his fantastic ROS, Ferrer gets into all of Nadal's service games.
Ferrer seems to have the game to give massive trouble to Nadal and Murray on hardcourts. |

However, Ferrer gives Murray MAJOR trouble on clay. Murray's never won against him on the dirt before. |

Yeah, Murray had plenty of trouble against Ferrer in their Semifinals of AO 2011 I remember. Murray had to save a set point to avoid going down 2 sets to 1. Ferrer also bashed him at the WTF and gave him more than enough trouble at Wimbledon.

How is Ferrer boring to watch? He just dug a hole in the Doha court.
