THE BISTRO CITY NEWS

Bistro City Police have closed the Stolichnaya smuggling operation run by Mr. LPV, Mr. Lemurov, and an unidentified man from Russia. It is believed that they have escaped to Russia with two women named Marloes and Natalia, and several cats and dogs. A ceiling fan is also reported to be missing.

Ph ew...***wiping brow*** that was close! Thankfully, I was able to get a message to Senti before we all had to make a speedy exit, stage right even, to the motherland of Mikey! Hopefully things will cool off soon and we will be able to return to our beloved Bistro. Until then, Senti will be running the place as he see's fit. He has assured us that he will keep the tennis tv subscriptions going and keep current on the liquor license. I have told Senti about the secret stash I had of Absolut because unfortunately, the Stoli supply is all gone. ***Looks at Mikey***

Have a lovely holiday everyone. Until we meet again

Thanks for remembering me, dear ILC, mikey and others.
I have been completely devastated or shaken for a month.

Since last November ('11) I had looked after two stray pups (black and tan females) in addition to their mum and one older bro. I loved them dearly. Last month (one year old), we had a festival which has intense firecrackers. They were terrified from the previous day itself. That night I visited relatives and when i returned only one was to be seen. For one month, I have been searching in every direction for miles but she is nowhere to be found. There are far too many streets, lanes, alleys, by-lanes etc -- it's impossible but I've both walked and driven for hours everyday.

I am unable to believe that she could be dead or that I may never see or touch her again. Every day I see several look-alikes, my heart races, but upon close examination, it's a male or too old or whatever. I've now run out of places to search. It's like looking for a needle in a haystack ... Now I am just going back to places already searched and repeating the search.

Oh Senti, I'm so sorry. I hope that she just ran off and is being cared for by another pup lover. It's best to try to think positively. We all wish you and the pups the very very best, always.

It turns out that the lemur forgot to make the various bribes to Bistro City officials. Payments have now been made and the Stolichnaya operation is running again. LPV is reinstalling the ceiling fan; there was concern that officials would confiscate it for violating every ceiling fan ordinance in the city.

Happy holiday season to ILC and everyone else.

Sorry to hear about this, Sentinel. Hopefully, ILC is right and someone decided to adopt the dog. Are you looking forward to the 2013 tennis season?

Sorry to hear about this, Sentinel. Hopefully, ILC is right and someone decided to adopt the dog. Are you looking forward to the 2013 tennis season?
Ha, I can scarcely think of tennis at this time. I don't think anyone could adopt her even if they tried. When they were a month old, people would try and then drop them back. Being stray and being free they can't take being confined, or being tied up. Last night I read somewhere that a lost dog is in a state (confused, scared, hungry) that it will not recognise it's owner, it may even run away if he approaches. It takes time for the dog to be able to recognise the owner.

A lot of my searching has expected her to spot me and come running out of where ever she is hiding. This is a densely populated area, roads lined with cars, millions of people walking around. I also drive around and honk, hoping she will come running upon hearing the horn, but i guess that wont work either. Too many lanes, alleys etc for me to walk through, or even drive through. Then there are buildings, gated communities, offices etc where I can't even get access but stray dogs can slip in.

What's more (unlike developed countries) stray dogs are not culled here, so there's a huge population everywhere. She cannot settle down anywhere, she'll be hounded and mauled, and will be on the run.

I fed her just before leaving that day at 6pm. I brought bread and milk, and as usual I mashed it and fed her with my hands (they are such spoiled brats). That was the biggest joy I had, feeding the 2 sisters with my hands. Never knew I'd never see her again. I don't even know what happened that night.

Stay strong dear Senti! Those pups are so lucky to have had you in their little lives. You have such a good heart. It's so comforting to me to know that there are so many real animal lovers out in the world.

HEyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Sentinel!!!!!! I was searching for you.Nice to see you posting here.I was thinking that something was wrong with your health.
Anyways,it is really sad to hear about your little pups. There is a big probability that some one might have taken them away.Few years ago,a female dog,and her little pups were reared out side my house, but one day we found that the mother and her 2 pups were missing. We searched a lot but all in vain. It's hard to fathom you won't be able to see or touch them, because one becomes so emotionally attached with these animals..

Senti, my dear friend. I'm happy to see you are OK, but sorry to hear about your emotional ordeal. I hope you find your dogs soon, but if not, I'm sure they will be OK after all the care you gave them.

I was going to make a comment of the type "I hope no Cambodian families live nearby" but then I thought it was probably not a good idea. Then I started thinking loudly in this soliloquy, and the rest is history

Hey, I just got a couple mails from folks who read your post somewhere else.

It's one of the two pups who is lost. Only one (of the two) came out of hiding, the others were not afraid / hiding.
My earlier post was badly worded. Not three of the four. I was down with fever and what-not for a few days, but have resumed the search now.

Hope you guys have a great Christmas and New Year.

Good to see you posting here. It's been long time since that pup is lost.I am not much aware of dog's habbits or psychology. As you wrote in the earlier post, that, they could go in hiding for days/months and suddenly come back.I hope that pup comes back, because it's a tall order to search for a pup in the busy and crowded lanes of delhi.

Anyways weather is really getting colder,so you need to keep proper care for your self.

Wink From Russia With Love: gazillions of 'Krasavitsa'

Mikey, I'm so sorry to hear of the engagement between your (now former) love grotto Maria Kirlenko and the toothless Alex Ovechkin. Hang tough, you'll get over it. I went through the same thing with Barbara Schett...but like they say, when one door closes another door opens and that turned out to be the case with me. I opened the door to this joint, saw ILC and the thought of Barbara Schett went up in thin air on the spot...even if she still pines for moya...i just know it, sigh... - from that point on, I was thoroughly besotted with acute Kumquatia - such bliss!

Better days await you my friend...better days! :thumbs up:

Women seem to have a thing for men with Carlos Moya teeth.

Marloes Horst is also now in a close relationship, but her beau is much better looking than Alex.
