I know of a High School Senior female whose name I won't divulge, a 5 Star, whose profile on TRN indicate that she has not been picked up by any school she is interested in nor signed a LOI. Rumor has it that she was offered a full ride at one school but was waiting on another school higher in her chose. Curious, is she late in getting picked up? Has she missed her opportunity for this year.... and if so, what happens to her now?

The next signing period for 2013s begins on April 17. For some recruits it makes sense to sign in the Fall period, for others it makes sense to wait.
Generally, the greater one's ability/the higher one's ranking is, the greater the chances are of achieving one's objectives by waiting |

Some kids do wait until the spring or perhaps she already knows where she is going but hasn't made it public. Girls have a bit more luxury to wait with the scholarship situation, except you still have to be careful cause there may only be a spot or two on a team that you want to get on so waiting can be risky. It is important for boys to commit early because the scholarship dollars are scarce and getting the money and also the spot early can be really important. If you know what you want it is nice to commit early and not have that to stress about senior year.

Could also be like the job interview process. You have to wait to see if their top candidate takes the scholarship. If she doesn't, then you will get the offer.
