Interestingly, I did not used to break strings that often when I used the Fischer Pro One (I got probably 1 1/2 to 2 times as much life). But these days, I'm using the Gamma T-7 (I have 7 of them and absolutely love them). But for whatever reason, my style of play w/ that racquet is recipe for breaking strings.
Try an Exo Tour 16x18...

I've loathed every Prince I've ever tried with O ports. I know a lot of folks that used to use the T-7 moved to the Prince OZone Tour (specs are nearly identical, but most people thought the Prince was better). But I demo'd it and thought it was a miserable frame.

I also demoed the Exo Tour (don't remember which pattern) but hated that as well. It was strung w/ a poly though, and I also hate polys.

But I don't even like demoing anymore. The T-7 is the first time ever that, when I lose, I don't even consider questioning the racquet. I just know it's the ideal racquet for my style of play. I don't see myself switching anytime soon. I have 7 of them and a boat load of replacement grommet sets for them.

Mike, are you playing with the original grip? I've been wondering how it would play with a leather grip or leather grip+over-grip. Might be the perfect addition.

The Exo Tour is a unique frame. I hated the 18x20 but the 16x18 is good enough for me. I'm having problems with my forehand lately using it but it could be due to the new strings.

I bought 3 stock Exos a few months ago. A few weeks ago, I bought a used one with a leather grip and lead tape. I tried it out but did not like the balance. So I ordered a new replacement grip from TW, ripped off the lead tape and played with the leather grip a few times while I waited for it to come in. It plays better for me stock with no customization.

I broke the Genesis Hex Comfort today. It was 5-5 in a tiebreak and I won the point but the shot I won it on felt weird. When I looked down, the string had unsheathed much like MCS. Here I am up 6-5 in a breaker knowing this string will blow any hit. It went on the return of serve! I still won the point though, whew...

All in all, I got 5 singles sets and 3 doubles sets out of it. It is a soft string but the spin was just average. I did not play all that well with it unfortunately.

Strung up the multi max last night. Seems like MCS with a harder outer sheath.

Thanks for the feedback, Mike. I recently strung up a friend's Exo 16x18 with Volkl V-Icon 17g natural gut at 57 pounds. I took it for a spin in our last hitting session and it played great -- significantly better than the multi-strung demos I've used on and off recently. Really great bite, as you would expect with 17g gut and the 16x18 pattern, with all the feel and comfort one could ask for. By far the best set up I have felt on his racquet, if I do say so myself.

The Klip gut 16 was pedestrian in the Exo.

Two Multis to try in this are:

1. Prince Premier Attack 16

2. Head RIP Control 17. The 17 of this string feels great, the 16 not so much.

These are my 2 favorite strings in the aforementioned racket.

Is the 17g RIP Control springy like the 16g?

The 17 has a lot more spin potential, better control. Works great with a spinny poly main like RPM or Solinco Tour Bite.

That is surprising to me because the few 17g multis I've tried all seemed to be springy.

Using Acura Control 17g and it is no more springy than other strings except on serves. Whatapop serving.

Unaware there is a 16g version. Have a couple sets of Prince Premier w/Softflex and also some Zyex strings to try before ordering more string.

I'll be curious to hear about the Prince. I've got Ashaway Dynamite Tough in the closet which will be my first trip with Zyex. Which Zyex strings are you getting ready to test?

The old Prince Premier. Need to string it lower like a poly. Hope my elbow agrees with it.

How much lower will you go? I'm thinking of string the Dynamite at 45 pounds since that falls in the recommended 10-15% tension reduction recommendation.
