Right now, Sloane lacks that intense inner drive to be a champion. She still thinks the WTA matches are like country club match with buddies. That's why she was perplexed by what Serena did to push herself. Just watch Serena play Azarenka in the next match to see two players that are there to win and nothing else matters.

I only saw the last half of the first set of this match. But it was great! The storyline played a part, but the 5 or so games I saw were high class tennis. One of the better WTA matches I've seen of late. I'm assuming 2nd probably wasn't as close?

both were pretty much equally close, stephens had her opportunities... serena just had that something extra....it must be said stephens is a good athlete but is she freakish like venus or serena, no...does she have any more power than sharapova or even azarenka, no....unique quality to her game and grit like henin...don't see it yet...she'll be moving up in the rankings...perhaps a major comes down the line...a long line though
