Probably because they designed it before he announced his retirement.

Yesterday (1/3/13) I asked when TW would carry the shoe. I was told to look for it on the website at the end of this month or beginning of February.

Any info on whether this update might better accomodate those with slightly wider feet?

Babolat's marketing is outstanding. The design looks good, too. I've been curious to try the Propulse.

Black/yellow colorway looks great. Can't wait to try them.

The Propulse 3 is very wide, maybe the 4 will be too

We got the 3's for our Men's team a couple years ago, and I was shocked how poor the durability was. Some of the guys burned through them quick (and so did I). I liked the fit (ordered a half size up), and the low to the ground feel, but I thought the insole lacked some long-term cushion. I'd be willing to try the 4's based on that video, but it could just be the marketing tricking me into wanting them.

Actually I don't believe it's really all that wide so much as the last is quite straight -- the shoe in plan-form doesn't curl around the instep so drastically (as is more typical of Nike and Adidas lasts for tennis specific shoes anyway). That makes it seem a lot wider than other shoes for people who's actual feet are straighter (like me!) and find other shoes like Adidas and most Nike subjectively "too narrow" even though those are also standard D width if you measure them across the foot beds.

Put it this way, for shoes that have relatively C shaped lasts, my feet do better in an EE (wide) fitting even though the absolute width of my feet is barely a mm over the standard for D fitting. I do better still in shoes that D width but have straighter lasts though...tend to get a snugger fit through mid-foot and heel that way. Foot shape matters more than most people imagine I think when selecting shoes; especially for something so hard on your feet as hard court tennis.

I'm hoping the last and the width stays more or less the same for the generation 4 -- the 3's have been a god send for my feet anyway.

The P3s are the only shoes that really work for me. They're also the only shoes I can go through in less than 2 months.

Hopefully they fix the problem with the strap, most of the people I know who played with them had the plastic clasp on the strap break in 1-2 months. Looks good either way, but I'm more of a Nike person haha.

Has anyone seen who's wearing the new propulse at the Australian Open? Now that Andy Roddick has retired who's going to promote this new shoe???
