I had some junk string laying around and I decided to try out a different technique of crossing to see if I could get more spin.
The racquet is a Dunlop AG 4D 200, the mains are a cheap multi (16g) and the crosses are a cheap syngut (17g), mains at 60lbs, top 3 crosses @ 60lbs, next 3 @ 50, next 5 @ 40lbs, and remainder @ 50lbs. ![]() ![]() It was a major pain in the hiney to string and I had to be extremely careful. I misweaved a bunch of crosses because the loops threw me off. I imagine the setup will break quickly and or hurt me. I did this purely for the experiment and to see if I could generate more spin. What do you guys think? Have you tried this before? If so, what were the results?

Heh that should be pretty nasty, but should break within 10 minutes.

Hope you're not planning on using that in a tournament...

Well, the wife was out shopping and the kid was taking a nap. Rather string than clean.

You would have been better off using Kevlar mains and sh crosses for more spin and easier stringing.

I didn't have any kevlar handy so I just used whatever crap I've had on hand. Going to take it out tonight to test.

It looks like total crap. It wasn't mean to be pretty. Who knows what it will do.

Maybe if you weave every other cross in the middle of the racket...

Looks interesting, you never know how it might play. I remember my barb wire stringing job, didn't play like how I would imagine it would.

I'm guessing it will break quickly too. But, always fun to experiment.
