I'm never wrong. RIM is finished. BB10 will sell ok initially but they're done.

The funny thing is, is anyone can destroy apple and Samsung with a better product.

Imagine if this new BB London had full blown photoshop.

Imagine if it had a music player that wasn't a complete POS.

Imagine if it had a multi LED thin panel notification bar at the top that you could customize with colors and patterns for different communication events.

Imagjne if it had a keyboard that actually worked without errors. Every time.

Imagine if it had all my finance apps.

Imagine if it had a seamless backup solution that was reliable and more portable.

Imagine if it had a robust VPN platform for corporate computing.

Imagine if it could massage your lower back or stomach and tell you everyday that you are the GOAT and people LOVE you.

I would buy it in a second.

I loved my humble Blackberry Curve. It's app range sucked, it had a stupidly small screen and it was just a 2G phone with a physical keyboard, but typing anything on it was just so much clickety-clickety fun. I had it unlocked and used it on a recent trip from several Asian countries. Texting is big in India, and I got a lot of organizational stuff done just on the phone, just by texting the people involved and rarely even speaking with them. Still so much fun, and usable where my then-CDMA-only Verizon smartphone was as good as a brick.

Also, as far as call quality goes, that was the best phone I've ever used. Somewhere along the way, the smartphone manufacturers forgot that these were "phones". I really hope that RIM comes up with something good. It is an uphill battle and very difficult to compete with Apple and Android, but stranger things have happened.

why does Verizon rip people off by charging for dataplan ? "2 MB is more than enough for you", Rep said. That is BS. Normally person needs about 4 MB. but Noooo, they charge like crazy for that.

T-Mobile, data is FREE.

The iPhone keyboard is horrible.

I concede.

Hmmm. I actually typed on an iphone 4 and iphone 5 keyboard and it seemed accurate to me, in terms of error correction and stuff. True, it just cannot mimick the tactile feedback of a physical qwerty, but you and I are old ; the teenagers of today probably don't miss it.

Coming from android keyboards, I have to admit that Apple did a good job of optimizing the key sizes, and the error correction for English. Typing in other languages may be harder (e.g., typing Hindi in English, or typing Japanese Romaji in English lettering). That is one of the reasons that I prefer Swype. It learns idiosyncratic spellings and nicknames really easily.

I remember reading on a review from cnet that the Lumia 920 has outstanding call quality. So maybe check into that. The camera is supposed to be pretty good too. If you can bare using Windows OS it could be promising.

Lots of people are unhappy with the Lumia 920 according to WP8 boards I monitor. If it had better reviews I would have bought one by now. So far I am unconvinced of its GPOATness.

I kind of miss having the control over the phone I get with an Android (i.e. file browser to arrange files as I see fit, greater selection of apps, being able to download music and videos from a DLNA server, no available app to view MS Access database tables). The Lumia 920 is a good phone, but it has a couple of quirks I don't get with any of the Androids I've used. Part of it might have to do with the WP8 platform, but hearing pops and noise on some of my MP3s irritates me. Especially when these same files I didn't experience an issue with my other phones (Blackberry Curve/Bold, Android 1.x/2.x/4.x), including non-smartphones. Enabling "Dolby Headphone playback" might have fixed that MP3 issue, but I'm sure most users in this situation would not have figured that out.

The battery life is pretty good and from a few of the photos I took the quality is good. It's not as light or as "sexy" as the GS 3, but I'll wait and see how Nokia and M$ further improve this platform.

Data requirements vary widely.

I use about 300 MB/month. I have WiFi in the places where I spend most of my time. The 300 MB that I use is for email, hotspot for my laptop, looking at traffic reports and checking stocks on the road.

I'm on a 300MB plan. I can get away with that since I have wifi access at work and at home. I turn off data connection. With the Lumia 920 I'm concerned about the data it gets from the live tiles.

What case do y'all recommend for the iphone 5? As in max. protection with min. bulk? I know, it sounds impossible, but what case offers the best compromise or best of both worlds if possible?

Life proof has tons of issues.

I've had every top rated iPhone 5 case and so far the Belkin Candy Grip and Switcheasy bonds are the best.

Android's had that feature for how long now?

Or just turn the sh!t off. Or, if you're an innovator like me, I'd make use of the decade-old feature that's been around cell phones since the beginning. It's call "silent" mode.
