Default Woodie

I'm sure this has been discussed somewhere... But has anyone put poly strings in one of their old wooden frames?

How did it turn out? Good playability?

Or do people mostly go for gut and synthetics in the woodies?

I did strung up a n.o.s. Wilson Advantage with a no name twisted 16G poly at 20/19 kg tension (43/39lbs).
As long as you pull slow and don't over tension its OK to put a poly in a woodie. It plays OK, ofcourse I would prefer natural gut at 50lbs or more....
