Too true, too true.

Its sad to think there are that many people out there either rich enough, or stupid enough, to support that kind of business model.

Just look at the Air Jordan sales. People would rather buy a pair of sneakers than pay their rent or put food on their table. Heck they even kill each other for them

You'll have to wait til it goes on sale.

I mean hey, if you have the money it's nice gear. I know if I was super wealthy, I'd be buying like every line and probably pre-ordering it. I wouldn't wait for it to go on sale.

Seems like every company is run that way though.

It is very nice gear and I wish I could afford it.

Last year for my birthday my wife bought me some Nike Roger Federer gear (shirt, shorts, hat) and it is the nicest tennis clothing I own.

It cost so much she was almost afraid for me to see what she spent on it when it came time to do the bills.

To be honest, I usually just wait til the next line comes out and they drop the prices like 25-35% on the previous line. Yeah you run the risk of stuff running out or your size not being available, but it's really the best way to do it. I don't think I've paid full price for any gear save for bandanas and wristbands.

Like that awesome Black and Red V-Neck Fed wore for Dubai and Rotterdam last year, I got that for like 42.50 because it was already marked down and they had a sale to take an additional like 20% or so off.

I pretty much strictly buy my RF stuff on the auction site at 50% or less off the retail price. It's funny how stuff in popular sizes will sell out on the on-line tennis sites but still end up on the auction site 6 months later. I scored that Black/Red V along with the Abyss one for about the same price as you.

The orange one is awesome. I always get positive comments when I wear it. Kicking myself for not buying the white one.

I know you're talking about the principle of the matter and I can respect that. But if you take care of it the shirt can last a long time. At least that's one way to justify/rationalize it.

And hope that they have his size.

I'm going to swing by the Niketown and take a look. If I never post again you'll know I either laughed myself into a stroke at the sight of the blk/pink V9's or went nuts and was put down by BHPD.

I had both. Still have the white one, got the orange one but somehow left it in a locker room about two months ago and it didn't turn up. If I see anyone with the medium orange henley around my neighborhood I'm punching them in the face and taking it back. I've already punched myself several times for leaving it behind.

I can picture you whooping some guy only to look at the tag and see that it is a large.

"Oops, sorry mate."

I mean that's the thing, it's not like the quality of this Nike gear is all that great. It definitely seems to have gone down hill from previous seasons and how much better can you really make a polyester shirt anyway? Your definitely paying for the marketing and the RF symbol on it. I doubt it will last that much longer than a Asics or whatever comparable brand. I mean if your buying a $5k hand stitched and canvassed Brioni suit vs a $1k fused Boss suit then it definitely makes sense but as it stands most of this tennis gear is just junk.

Would love to hear your thoughts on the quality if you do end up checking it out?

09-11 were I think the peak for quality.

Yeah the only thing I hate, is that Nike won't sell the RF shorts or wristbands in the US...

Ugh the RF shorts thing really ****es me off. I know it might be silly, the difference between a clasp and a stretchable waist band but they are just so much nicer. I think 2010 was the last year they sold them as I have Roger's 2010 Miami shorts which are really great looking. As for the wristbands, they aren't even selling wristbands on TWE for the 2013 AO. I've already said this a million times, but I wish Nike would just release premier wristbands and double the price because they are "premier", hell I'd buy them. I already pay more than that on resale for them. Guess we're going to have to wait for IW/Miami exclusives.

I mean they know that we want the gear and want to throw a whole look together, but yet they refuse to do it. I would think with all the money they make on the RF Polos and shirts not to mention the Rafa line, they would get wise and sell the shorts..

I'd love to know their strategy behind that. Do they think that all American's have expanding waist lines so they need the expandable? Is there even much difference between the two? I assume the RF version is stretchy as well, just with a clasp?

Yeah, and I mean they sell the Rafa shorts here, why would they not sell the Fed shorts? I know the Rafa shorts are velcro, but still they don't really seem much more stretchy than if you had button enclosure.

I actually just sent Nike a long winded e-mail asking for answers to this question and the wristands issue. I'm sure I'll get back some garbage like "it's not profitable," but at least I tried. Hopefully if enough people complain, maybe they'll actually listen to their customers and **** can get changed.
