I woke up about midnight with a foot cramp. I have had these numerous times and they usually go away as soon as I jump to my feet and walk around or hit GOAT tweeners at Roosevelt Island. Sometimes, though I have to hop in a hot shower to get relief as I did last night. After that, I went back to bed but woke up an hour later in a total sweat.
As I was drying off I suddenly got a severely painful GOAT cramp in my calf that must have torn the muscle; anyway I spent the rest of the night attempting to walk it off in between taking another 4 or 5 more hot showers smothering my body in warm microgel.
Now, I can barely walk and it's freaking me out. I might have to go to the hospital (if my truck will start; it's 15 below zero). I'm still trying to decide what to do. I may join the USTA as a self rated 4.0 GOAT. I just don't know.

i've been sick all week. saturday/sunday it got real bad. had to blob out with jolly saturday night at the place formerly know as hooters. and there was something magical there that night. cancelled hitting out side yesterday, couldn't imagine any situation where i wouldn't have ended up feeling worse or not in the hospital. nothing on the schedule to look forward to this month. i think i'm gonna play a 4.0 tournament at the end of february. might sneak in the occasionally filipino davis cup practice.

Spoak to the Filipino Davis Cup coach last night at Gertrude's and he is pleased with your progress. He said you have "tenacity"...

No, wait, actually it was a midsummer afternoon.

I was hitting with Dennis, and unknown to me Mr. Pickle was hitting with his girlfriend on a remote court.

I packed up my things to go, and was greeted by Mr. Pickle, "Hey! You're Jollyroger!".

I replied with some witty answer the details of which I have long forgotten in typical Jolly fashion, and plopped down on the bench at which time Dennis took the reins of the conversation.

"So, what high school do you guys go to?" asked Dennis, deciding to err on the side of caution despite thinking that they were in fact middle-schoolers.

"Stonybrook University!" Mr. Pickle's girlfriend replied indignantly.

Identification was demanded, and FBI background checks ensued, revealing that indeed Mr. Pickle was 21 years of age.

He was quickly taken under the our wing, and after 4 years of tutelage has now decided to dip his toes into the waters of competition.

He has taken the first step into becoming the world-beater that the pride of Jamaica proclaimed he would be.

The exact words I believe were "We gwan turn dat boi into a whirlbeeta."

Herein lie the tales of our adventures, and misadventures.

Excellent back-story. Why, oh why do I ever stray from TTW? Is there video? Please, please tell me there is video! BHBH

If you Google, chicken with his head cut off, you will get the same effect of my presence on the court. Every time we have done a video our tripod seems to malfunction and we end up with great footage of the court surface!
