I actually just sent Nike a long winded e-mail asking for answers to this question and the wristands issue. I'm sure I'll get back some garbage like "it's not profitable," but at least I tried. Hopefully if enough people complain, maybe they'll actually listen to their customers and **** can get changed.

Rafa's shorts are very nice as well. I bought a pair from TW during their Black Friday sale along with the flame pack shirt and the Nike Tennis LS pullover. Nike still makes really great stuff, but you just have to wait for the sales.
