I think i am going to try: mulit-feel, rip control and yonex tour super 800. Any tension suggestions. I use a APD Gt if that is helpful.

I find NRG2 more durable than MultiFeel. NRG2 is my favorite multi, the 16G has good durability for a multi and it holds tension. But, it is not cheap.

I don't know of any really good cheap multi's. AlphaGut 2000 is good but not great and durability is average. Also, Dunlop Comfort is good too if you can still find it. TW has a good deal if you buy multiple sets.

EastAngels, do you have a stringer? If you are paying retail stringing prices, you could save a lot of money if you string for yourself.

MultiFeel does not have good durability. I think Discho Microfibre, Prince Premiere Attack and RIP Control should be under consideration if you are looking at mid priced multis with good durability.

I have tried over 20 diffrent Multis and I agree You should try Discho Multifibre, Prince premier attack, and then Rip control. They are the best priced best durability. I feel these three play pretty diffrently and pick the one you like best. What Racket are you playing with?

I also tried Discho Microfibre and found it to be a very good string. It just seemed to go mushy after about 10-12 hours, but that's already a lot of time for me. It's worth trying and the shipping is free.

Although I like Mantis Comfort Synthetic, and it's only $9, I can't recommend a string that I break in under 5 hours. But if you don't break strings it might work for you.

I would check out the reviews and playtests on STRINGFORUM. I have found it to be an objective and useful resource over the years.

Top Rated Multis - Stringforum (2012) based on actual playtests:

Tecnifibre Competition 1.28*
SuperString Viper V9 Terre Multi*
Tecnifibre X-One Biphase ($17)
WeissCANNON Explosiv! ($13.)
WeissCANNON 6Star Supercharged 1.30 ($12.)
MSV Technora 100 1.10*
Signum Pro Micronite 1.27*
Tecnifibre NRG2 17 ($15.)
Kirschbaum Touch Multifibre 1.25 ($14.)
Wilson NXT Tour 17 ($17.)

* not available in the US.

Ive always liked prince lightning Xx and since the spin version came out its all I use for my crosses with msv focus hex 17L mains. I usually break the mains before a cross so I reckon it quite durable and under 8 bucks a set.

Lightning XX is really not a multifilament but a solid core with multiwrap and falls in the premium synthetic gut category like the Babolat N.Vy, Wilson SGX etc.

I'm pretty sure Discho Microfibre = Signum Pro Micronite.

Whatever you do, try Mantis Comfort, as well as Rip Control. I've tried most of the soft multi's out there, and now I'm happy playing with those two.

mikeler, one thing to consider when assuming that Microfibre and Micronite is made from the same manufacturer.....These companies offer different string thickness. Microfibre available at 1.25mm and 1.30mm vs Micronite available at 1.27mm and 1.32mm.

By the way, thanks for the kind words that our Triumph string plays very similar to your favorite Microfibre string.

With the aeropro I am going to bet you like the prince premier attack better than the discho or rip control. Personally I did not care for the mantis comfort as much as the others

I personally hate the RIP Control, but you have to try it, since it is a love-it-or-hate-it string. I thought it had absolutely nothing, but many here like it.
I think AlphaGut2000 is a great string as a cross for poly or in an 18x20 string pattern on a small headed racket. Not very durable for a large headed 16x19 racket, though.

nrg2 is a great multi, very soft, a lot of upside from this string. Also try wilson K gut. Its a great string, (but you may have to restring often)

Give Isospeed Professional Classic a go. I'd be interested to know what others think.

I find that it's just that bit stiffer but still very comfortable, and it lasts far longer than any other multi i've tried. Babolat Excel, NRG2, WeissCannon Explosive, Wilson NXT....

The only gripe I have is that it doesn't come in reels. Not sure what the plainer Isospeed Professional is like and that does come in reels. Quite a bit cheaper than other multi's too.

Give the Prof Classic a go, see what you think

NRG in 16g has terrible spin potential.

I'll be trying Classic in a few weeks. The newer version of the string is bad.

I like Iso Pro Classic quite a bit. It is a higher powered string. Some may say too much so, but the string does put a good bite on the ball and pocketing is very good. It amounts to great feel, very good spin potential and a level of control usually not found in multis this powerful - especially at under $10 a set.
