Didn't have to play Fed, Novak or Rafa. Completely hollow.

Murray's going to feel pretty hollow after playing in 40 degree heat tomorrow.

Agreed. Hollow victory. Beat Grigor "loser" Dimitrov in the final.

Much like Rlph's 2010 Garros title.

Perhaps. But it's no more hollow than all the many titles Novak, Fed and Rafa have won without playing any of the other top 4.
So in the end it doesn't really mean anything. The top 4 can't always attend the very same tournaments. |

A win is a win, regardless.

This post is hollow. You didn't beat Federer, Nadal or Djokovic. You are hollow.

Yes it was. All 25 of Murray's wind assisted titles are hollow.

Does anybody know what this thread is for?
Murray decided to play a warm-up tourney in Brisbane for match practice (he played there last year as well), Djokovic was off playing another warm-up tourney in Perth for the same reason, Federer was at home hitting a few balls on his practice court while Nadal was off sick! You don't really think the 4 top players would all knock 7 bells out of each other playing in the same warm-up tourney ahead of a Grand Slam do you?? Can we all go home now? ![]()

These threads feel pretty hollow to be honest.
As for the answer: No.

I would discount most of Murray's big wins as in most of his big wins , his opponent did not play better than him. For example in USO 2012, Djokovic did not play better than Murray and as a result of this luck, Murray won. Had Djokovic played better than Murray, he(Murray) would have lost.
I struggle to recollect the last title Murray won where his opponent played better than him For me there will always be a big asterisk next to Murray's wins. |

![]() The reason someone wins a match is generally because they are playing BETTER than their opponent (unless the opponent pulls out of the match because of injury). It doesn't matter what the reasons may be why an opponent plays worse, if he plays worse, he loses the match. The better player in the match ALWAYS wins! It's that simple! Quote:
