Gotta say though, returning on clay? What a coward.

He would have played at AO if he knew that Fed, Djoko and Murray weren't playing. Nadal doesn't want to lose to them specifically but he wouldn't care if Berdych beat him. He wants to keep the mental edge over top slam winning players.

Nadals chances at the slams outside of the FO are zero. I think he'll do this drama every year to only play on clay and try and catch up to Pete.

Yeah this AO would be 0 chance but I think he could still make it to semi with a decent draw i.e. no Berdych or Delpo in his Q. He can win Wimbledon this year if he gets into good form by July and guys like Djokovic or Murray are injured from overplaying.

That Jimmy Jump guy, more than a crazy fan, does that for a living I think.

Yeah. I remember reading an interview with Connors where he said Rafa was painfully why or something.

And in any case, signing autographs all the time (much more than other pros) and posing for pictures all the time is being personable enough with fans.

How do you know he signs more than anyone else? All of the top players sign after their matches so Nadal is not the only one.

And looking as miserable as possible while doing it.

I'm going by what people have posted here.

Do you think all top players sign after losing on the second round of a slam?.

Maybe not all of them, but some do which means Nadal is no special case.

Have you seen him since he''s been in Barcelona? He STILL looks surly and miserable, even after all of this time off. What is his problem?

Who does?.

I don't think he looks miserable. I think it might be your imagination... other than the beard he looks fine to me.

I've seen Cvac sign autographs after losing(while not staring at the ground). Nadal is not the only one to do it.

I do, but I am used to it because he always looks like he could not be more miserable. And yes, the beard is hideous and he needs to get rid of it badly.

Speaking of cowards, would you call Nadal a coward to his face? Obviously not.

Hope you have fun watching the 5-6 titles Nadal wins between now and June

Amazing stat regarding Berdych: Nadal has won their last 11 meetings, and only 3 have been in clay.
