I'm glad to hear it! I hope you stick around for the long journey that is box league life. I'm pretty sure it goes year round, if not there isn't much of a break!

Quick update: I'll be playing one of the biggest 5.0 tournaments in my province right before the Aussie Open next month. It will be the highest level tournament I've had the opportunity to play before and I hope that I can possibly pull off a first round upset!

Hey all!

Just finished exams and recording my bands first EP. Exciting stuff indeed! Finally I get some time for tennis in the coming days. I still have lots to work on before my tournament, I just hope my preparation is up to par.

I really really want to get some ground stroke videos up soon. I just need someone to film me haha!

Hope all is well with everyone!

I play bass! I have for almost 11 years now, so I've been at it for a while. This is my first studio work in close to 4 years haha!

Happy Holidays everyone!

Had my first hit in over a week due to the lovely busyness of the holiday season. I was rusty but it was tons of fun. I'm loving the PSL, as it's letting me hit freely with tons of depth and easy spin. Just really syncs with my game well.

I finally started addressing the take back issue on my forehand as well, so it's very DelPo like in the C shape. I'm absolutely stoked at how it's working out.

I have a lot to prepare for still however for my 5.0 tourney next week! It should be a fun experience though. I really really want to get some video if possible!

Keep safe all, and Happy New Year!

So all! The draw finally came out for my tourney! First match is on Wednesday. I'm playing a very strong junior that should be a fun match! (I am in the 5.0 by the way!)

Should be a good time!

Thanks bud! I saw that number 1 seed thing too, what luck eh? It's all good though, I'm more worried about my first round match!

Really? I'm surprised but very happy for him. I still want to give it a try one of these days... Maybe this summer/spring when I can really put it through it's paces! Haha!

Hey all!

Figured I'd update after my pair of crushing losses!

In the first match I played against an elite level junior, I lost 6-2, 6-1 after having 4 service games at 40-0 (in which I was broken!) It was a ton of fun and I really learned a lot on how to deal with heavy kick. Next time I play him I figure I'll have a better chance of taking a set off him! I really need to learn how to close better on my big chances. With my serve as big as it is, you'd think I would be holding a lot easier and more consistently. Lots of long rallies and good games which result in my loss in just under an hour and twenty minutes.

My consolation match was today and I got absolutely rolled by the 5th seed. He is one the best players I've ever played. I lost 6-2, 6-2 / 4-0 4-0 (scoring is to only 4 games in consolation due to time restrictions) and he just absolutely dominated me. He is a past multiple Open and 5.0 winner which doesn't make me feel too badly. Just amazing game and he was the worst match up possible for me. Huge serving at which he can hit 115MPH on a regular basis, and he softballed the heck out of me from the baseline. His soft slices were staying ankle height most of the time and I was forced to hit ridiculous buggy whip shots to even stay in the point due to my height. Amazingly good player, and amazingly difficult to play.

I still have so much to work on, but I feel as though this tournament really helped my game develop and expose some of the huge weaknesses I still have. Next tournament I hope to be playing a 4.0 and make it deep in the draw. Training has to start getting harder as this was an abysmal start to the new year season!

I hope to get some box league matches in soon!

Thanks for following! Will update soon.

Hahaha oh he's one of the most naturally talented players I've ever had the chance to watch! Amazing to see how big he hits at eye level.

Injuries and exams suck, but my shoulder is getting way better thanks to physio and CharlieFederer's tips!

Hitting serves at about 80% which for me is massive right now. I'm happy with how it's coming along, and I cant wait to get in match play again soon.

So tomorrow is my first match since the gnarly shoulder injury. First real match since my tourney almost two months ago. Excited to see how it turns out.

Wish me luck!
