Exactly... this would NEVER happen in an ATP event. And back to the never ending argument about equal pay at a GS when the first rounds of the women's bracket last about 45 minutes.

Streakapova is done at 28 games in a row, as Venus manages to hold her serve, now at 1-4. Uh, congrats, I guess?

Maybe this will turn her around and she'll stop dumping all those forehands into the net.

Serena should thrash Masha for this.

5 bakery sets in a row for Masha. I'm not a fan of hers, but damn, Maria is on fire. She nearly broke Venus at love to end the set.

She should go on to the press like Tomic did and say "this is the best time to take out the Williams Sisters."

"One is permanently tired, the other one got broke ankles."

This is really hard to watch. Venus cannot keep the ball in play. I hope Serena absolutely pummels Maria for this.

We don't have to hope. We all know what happens when she plays Serena.

Venus has nothing on her serve these days, it's sad.

I just don't want to hear Sharapova's shrieks on the court. That's why I want Venus to take her out.

Geez, Maria destroyed Venus in that return game. 2 return winners and a hard hit forced error to break at love.

Combination of people wanting Venus to return to a high level of play and anti-Sharapova sentiment. Lets face it, Sharapova's largest fanbase is people who find her attractive (for some reason).

I didn't expect the score to be so lopsided.

No kidding. 2 balls smack in the middle of the line called out, but Maria is even beating the ump with her challenges.

So many netted shots by Venus. This is one of her worst matches ever, even considering her post-Sjogren's diagnosis-ness.
