Kinda like Goolagong vs Everts.
For true artists, maybe Watson. For technicians, Robson. For technicians who wish they were artists, a little; of both. For artists who wish they were technicians....... KISS works for tiny brained players like myself, as too many options only confuse the overall goal. |

^^^Julian - yes many indoor facilities in the UK (and quite a few outdoor) use an acrylic surface like Plexicushion, Rebound Ace, GreenSet or similar. A lot of the commercial tennis/leisure clubs still have carpet indoors sadly - although a few are installing acrylic options for their members!
At the National Tennis Centre (where Heather, Laura, Jo Konta and the juniors trained for the Aussie we have GreenSet Grand Prix with under-floor heating (which gets turned way up through december to help with acclimatisation - nightmare for the coaches and other players not going to Oz!). So yeah, plenty of good prep available now!

Ahead of Poland?
Teach to slide on acrylic - as a general rule I wouldn't, purely because the paint has the sand in to create the grain and control the speed. The friction is pretty high, so unless it was a really, really slick, quick acrylic court I wouldn't teach to slide from a player safety perspective (although my guys do sometimes get wheelspin!)
