Thanks for the lead! I looked on the "non-paid" forum and didn't see a classifieds forum... must be on their "paid members" forum. Please let me know if you have a link/email address, etc. Thanks again.

There was one here in LA around Christmas time, but I think it's sold. If you want a Prince 3000, I have a lead on one, but it's in the East Coast.

Thank you, if it's the one in Baltimore for $2K, he contacted me. I think I'm inclined to wait for a Star 5 just based on what I've researched and read here.

Yeah that's the one. I've traded some PMs with him. Cool Guy.
For some reason used Star 5's seem to come up for sale during Christmas time. A Tour stringer I know, said there might be some in So Cal from a few shops that recently closed.

Contact the site owner on the non member site, as it goes to Tim, who I believe was selling his.

3. Learning... what's the best way to learn? Unfortunately I live pretty far away from any big cities or major tennis areas. So... USRSA? YouTube (links appreciated)? Books, videos???

Thanks in advance!
If you want to get a stringer for a decent price I would recommend going to Eagnas and take a look at their high end machines.

They tend to copy most major brand of machines (prince, kilppermate, gamma, and alpha etc) and for a better price.

Also check out this stringer from Eagnas http://www.eagnas.com/store/product_...7239e7ff037cec

And for info about stringing rackets go to this link on youtube http://www.youtube.com/user/YULitle.

Great vids!

I learned most of my stringing from this guy.

Why in the world would you recommend an Eagnas machine to me after your thread here where people clearly didn't recommend them to you:http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showt...ghlight=Eagnas

As I stated above, I'm now actively looking for a used Babolat Star 5. Yes, I even have an ad in the "Wanted" forum. If anyone is selling one, or knows someone that is, please let me know. Thank you.

1: Eagnas has the most products of any other stringing company(at a better price).
2: From personal experience I have never had a problem with the customer service.
3: The build on MY Eagnas machine the is solid.

By the way on the thread it took just minor adjustment to fix my base clamp.
Now it's working like grease lightning!

Most tennis player are ignorant in how to properly adjust machines tools which explains a lot of crap said about Eagnas.
Not to say for all of the Eagnas stringers but mine has been a great stringer for the last few years.
Even some Master Racket Technicians use Eagnas.

If you want to get a very high end stringer where money is no object then get the Prince Neos 1500 or 1000 or take a look into electronic machines.

When money is not a consideration Eagnas has no place in the discussion. Their build quality is just not as good as the other major brands like Gamma, Prince, Alpha Babolat, Wilson etc. Also when you spend that much you want to be sure that if something goes wrong you ahve a real company to deal with not some guy who may or may not be helpful.

And a Neos 1000/1500 while a workhorse and found in many retail shops etc is not a "high end" stringer. Prince 3000 , wilson biardo, Babolat star 5, technifibre etc are "high end" machines which is what this poster is looking for.

I love the Prince 5000 that I use at the store.
All the features you need and a great mounting system and clamps, fast and easy

If under 700 go with Eagnas.
Between 1,200-1,500 go with Prince Neos.
Over 2k get the Babolat

You are spewing out a lot of definitive advice for someone who was asking about buying his first machine less than a week ago.
