Has Fed decided to switch to Luxilon 4G in the crosses? Looking online, I really can't tell because it's hard to see. Sometimes it looks gold to me? Anyone know?

Doesn't surprise me. 4G is great control string. Roger had some big time issues with Forehand spraying with NO control. this might help some. and maybe this string will allow him to switch to bigger 98 or 100 sq inch frame.

Sorry for the massive massive picture but still no 4G.
![]() I believe some said he used it in one of those exos he did at the beginning of the year.

Ehh, imo 4g gut hybrid at low tensions isn't as good as Alu rough and gut hybrid. Also, we all know Federer is stubborn towards change.

Well even though I haven't tried it, isn't 4G supposed to offer longer string life though a reduction in tension loss? Someone like Federer doesn't have to worry about tension loss in a poly because he can just get a new racket delivered to him. Compared to ALU rough I believe 4G has less spin and is very low powered, so for Roger I'd assume the cons outweigh the pros.

Ahh thanks guys. I was just curious because in some photos it looked like it had a goldish tint to me and I knew he used it in his South American tour so I was wondering if he actually made the switch.

he wouldn't. it might make the strings snap back just a little faster without any bumps.

Everyone knows federer won't switch, he built his game around that racket. Although he did used to play with an 85, though I doubt he'd go all the way up to 95. I'm sure he'd be capable of playing with a bigger stick, but there is always some trade off.
