Gilles had a chocolate bar in the fifth set, when he should've had a chocolate milkshake instead.

Does Mofilis have a trainer named "Slim", by any chance?

I think the sugar and caffeine give a sudden spike in energy.

He probably couldn't keep a chocolate Milkshake in his bag but I agree with you it would have been better

Monfils cracks me up. He definitely marches to the beat of a different drummer.

Dumbasses.

It's why they were dying in the 5th set. You don't drink that kind of crap during a long match, or any match for that matter!

Haven't they learned that those beverages are amongst the worst drinks to consume during a match like that?

For a pro, I thought they would've learned better.

I guess I'm wrong.

Hmmm...let's see. Water, anything with electrolytes, anything with just enough sugars and sodium to replenish, anything THAT DOESN'T TAKE RUST OFF OF CAR BUMPERS!

You are so wrong it's not even funny. Chocolate milk has been researched for years and has countless times been shown to be better than premade recovery and sports drinks.

Jimmy Connors' pre-match meal (per Tennis Magazine): 2 hamburgers and 3 glasses of Coca Cola. All it did was propel (so to speak) him to the highest number of singles titles of any male in the open era and get him to a USO semi at age 39. Coke is it!!

They clearly know that you're not supposed to have that kind of stuff. But they clearly wanted sugar/energy, and decided that having those things were worth the downsides.

Do you really think pros are too stupid to not know? Of course they did.

Different world...everyone did that.

And Lendl started obliterating both Connors and McEnroe, who were not fitness freaks, when he got his act together. Need to stay in proper shape for this level of tennis now.
