Baylor and Duke should have just played each other while they were both in Hawaii.

i think they'll do a good bit of shuffling during the season and ultimately hemmeler will be focusing on dubs later in the year...maybe a chance that semenzato doesn't adjust to the college game quickly as well, always tough to tell until they play some big dual matches...i just have a hard time seeing tahir on the outside of the singles lineup considering the way he has stepped up with some bigtime results in the past 6 months |

That top 7 is very strong - agree with you on Tahir, who has a really big game - and provides for margin of error in case of injury. Hemmeler isn't your classic dubs specialist - he can't weigh 150 lbs, and serve seems pretty weak, but he is very crafty at it. |

Cunha-Carleton were nasty whether it's Hemmeler or Semenzato that ends up pairing with Cunha (both have had bigtime results - fall and summer, respectively), i expect the same type of top notch #1 team often it's the team that returns better in dubs ____________ anyway, both Duke and UVA look fantastic this year, some experienced aces up top and tons of depth going to try my best to make it out to both of those matches (assuming an ACC final rematch) if at all possible to see if Duke can finally get over the hump - almost happened last year with it coming down to Cunha-Jenkins @ Duke - this might be the year either team will have an uphill battle winning four singles matches, dubs will be bigtime |

I think that was the point...why wouldn't Duke hang around an extra couple days and Baylor come a day early? It's friggin Hawaii....in January. Enjoy it. Not like they're missing much in class right now. Give em a beach day.

Probably too early in the season for each team to test themselves against another top 10 team and feel ready.

Michigan State beats Vanderbilt 4-1 (they may continue the remaining matches). Pfister beats Austin in a deciding 3rd set tiebreak to clinch.
Vanderbilt has been disappointing over the last 2 years with the recruiting classes they have had. |

That is a disappointing result. Jeff Offerdahl didn't play but still with the talent they have they shouldn't lose to Michigan State.
