Any P1 users NOT using poly?. My demo had a full set of syngut and felt great.
I am worried I will lose that great feel with poly, but I want to upgrade from plain old syngut. Maybe a low power multi or a hybrid with a multi mains and poly cross?

I tried with a full bed of multi and did not like. But I'm just not really a fan of multis. I'm hoping to try a gut/poly hybrid soon (when I'm done testing a Vantage VT221).

Try multi mains and gosen sheep crosses both at 56 - 58 lbs. It's quite good but only last me 3 hours each racquet. Or you can go pro line 2 mains 48 and excel crosses 50 lbs. This last me 6 hours b4 crosses snap

Happy with Silverstring 1.2 @ 48/45. Just strung up with Pacific classic gut/Silverstring at 52/48 and can't wait to hit with it!

Count me in. I demoed Pro one some 6 months back but ended up going with Rad pro. After battling with Radpro for a month of two I went back to my trusted Gold 99. I recently got a pro one from TW sales section and then stung with BHBR17 at 52. Played 3 sets so far. Game is getting adapted to this new stick.
My only complaint so far is this racquet feels so great in hand (with leather grip) that I want to kill the ball every time I strike it. Resulting in some arm pain due to usage. More of a usability issue. This is the best feeling racquet in had that I have ever held. It feels so solid but swings so easy. Also not much vibration.

have you found that when using a full bed of poly you seem to get better results by having different tensions for the mains and crosses? |

just got my new Pro One from TW.....
the spec sticker says 309 grams unstrung and now with strings, overgrip and dampener it weighs 335 grams in total.. Does that sound right to you that strings, og and dampener added 20 grams? I am not going to cut out strings to check the unstrung weight right now, but this is definitely heavier than I wanted. Edit...I guess this is possible. I just weight a full set of poly (19 grams) + overgrip (7 grams) + dampener (2 grams) = total of 28 grams. That would make unstrung weight 310, which is almost exactly on spec.

not really liking the full poly (Volkl Cyclone Tour). I'm never really a fan of full poly though, much prefer hybrids. First time trying this string too. Feels very "plasticky" to me. It takes away some of the nice ball feel I had with the full syngut I had in my demo. Need to try something different when I restring. I want to find a setup that is on the soft side without getting too powerful.

Yes I am still playing Donnay Pro One 18x20 and the 105 sq.in prototype frame. The 105 is really nice, Formula power and much better control. All my Angell frames are borrowed for testing, so I didn't play Angell a lot as expected. The other frames I want to try are Head Graphene Speed Pro and Wilson Steam 99s. Have you tried those racquets?

Kal, I finally got around to measuring the swingweight of my Pro One and it was 330. That's interesting because the static weight was 309. Where are all these 318 sw racquets that Donnay claims to be the average spec?. I don't think one exists that is under 320.
