Hi guys
Tried to search this subject but Im coming up with nothing.. So hope you dont mind me asking for your thoughts. Recently had my racquet strung with Pro Hurricane Tour 17 and asked for 53 lbs tension. I think its not 53 lbs. To me i seems its at 60lbs at least. I might be wrong. I had polys before at 53 lbs except luxilon. I know different strings play differently despite having same tension. I know strings act differently in different weather conditions. Is there a way for me to know the tension without any sophisticated gadget? I thank in advance for any advice you guys can provide.. Cheers

Did you ask your stringer that he for sure strung it at 53?

PHT is stiff so that might have something to do with it. In terms of testing the tension, you'll need either a racquettune app for your smartphone, or a tourna string meter. There isn't anything else that I can think of that will determine your tension accurately.

Im worried i might offend him if i asked. The racquet tune app sounds good. Is it accurate?

I think it's relatively accurate. I wouldn't say that it's the most accurate way to measure tension, but at the same time, I don't know for sure. Personally, I like it; and I think it serves its purpose well.

Like the previous poster said, it's probably because its a 90 in head. Try 48 lbs next time!

Actually, I am now using Prince exo3 rebel team. I havent updated my signature yet my apologies.. Its interesting as before I used the PHT, I had it strung with solinco tour bite 17 at 53 lbs as well and it was magic.. I actually asked my stringer and he was confident so I might just see how I go
