Lately, with the popularity of heavy topspin game, the pundits have recommended use of smaller grips. Long are gone the L6's. I am guessing the vast majority of the users would prefer L3 or L4 grips. Am I wrong? What type of distribution would this be?

I'm old school I guess. Always used an L4. Now, I usually buy L3 and the build up to just under a L4.

... I'm not sure if there's such a thing as a "favorite" grip size.
It's either your grip size or it's not. |

My grip size is between L4 & L5. I prefer L3 since I always add an over grip.

I didn't know there was an L6.
I use an L2 with 1 or 2 overgrips.

Once in a while you can see some older rackets in size #6 for sale. Not sure that manufacturers still produce any.
I saw two years ago an old beat up TAD Davis Imperial in size 5 inch (that would be L8?) marked "heavy". My seat of the pants estimate was it weighed over 15 oz. Somehow we're not as strong as we used to be. |

L3, add 6 layers of ducktape, then 2 old overgrips, then leather grip, and finally a fresh overgrip. L6+ ?

L3, tho Babolat seems to make their grip on the APDGT larger than normal.

I love the feel of L4, but I get my best groundies results with L3.

Old school too, more a flat hitter, don't look for topspin, definitely L4, since the beginning I play tennis (about 20 years ago).
I have tried L3 but did not manage to get used to it.

L2 sometimes with overgrip sometimes without. I'm not sure if its too small because although there's a small gap its not enough for a finger to fit. But it just feels like I have more control over the racket with the smaller grip.

we should also add our height and hand size to this board with the grip size. in that way, we can tell if most people are using the correct chart size or just what we like to use

I'm old, I still have a 4 3/4" grip Wilson Advantage that I pull out occasionally. I have average sized hands for my height, 5' 11", but started playing in the early 70s. I now play with L5 leather grips, no overgrip.

i use an L5, but file grooves into the handle in the shape of my hand...
kidding, I use L3 at the moment, but prefer L2 + leather grip and an overgrip.
