Isner hasn't and wont amount to anything significant in tennis history books. That's the difference between him and Raonic - Raonic has a chance to at least.

His serve which hits heights of 148 on such a surface would have been unplayable its a real blow to the tournament and fans around the world of our sport

Very smartly played match by Federer and pretty flawlessly executed too. Raonic will go away humbled from this loss - he was pretty much clueless and this fact was only masked temporarily because he is fortunate enough to have the serve he does.

Yeah, right. I am sure the organizers of the AO are crushed about Isner not being able to play there. Isner does not sell tickets except maybe in some smaller 250 tournaments in the US. 98% of the tennis revenue comes form Federer, Nadal, Djokovic and Murray (and the latter two to a lesser extent.)

How many Masters finals has Raonic been in? how many wins does he have against Federer Nadal or Novak?

Hes a prospect for sure but the fact is Isner plays an all out attacking game which can and has troubled anyone in the sport and on these courts that would have been lethal!

Age
Raonic: 22
Isner: 27 (28 shortly)

If Isner was going to do anything he'd have done it by now. The reason he hasn't isn't because the world hasn't woken up to his "all out attacking game", it's because he doesn't possess an "all out attacking game" - he's a big serving dunce who is otherwise pretty clueless save for the odd forehand which comes within a couple of steps radius of him.

Why on earth are we even talking about him in this thread? Raonic is more of a talent than Isner could have ever hoped to be.

No one can be happy with 41 errors yet with his error strewn game Raonic managed to get into the last 16 of a slam having also twice got to R3 of slams as well.

Why doesn't he get another coach who can help him clean up his game?

I think he is just trolling. In the entire match thread, he has been talking about Isner. Unnecessarily dragging Isner to almost every post

Isner did not turn pro till he was 22 as he played on the NCAA so he would likely have longer on thr pro tour to make a mark!

His serve is his main weapon obviously its a world class shot but when in the zone this transfers to the rest of his game and he does play an "all out attack game" check out his 4th set v Federer last year, that was unplayable both with serving and returns! Raonic is talented but I am yet to see any evidence that he can produce that quality of tennis as yet

Why do people here spell the word as "poast"? Anything I'm missing? I'm sure it's deliberate.

Yes, a coaching change is required for Raonic. They had their chances, now a new team needs to be put in place.

Why stay in Spain when the rallying is flaky?

I've wondered that myself, but I've just laughed at it. Like to know what it means if anything though.
