Can you all imagine the commotion if Federer had the same draw as Murray? Haters would all go nuts!

chardy FOR A quarter finalist is very cheap and low on so many levels my prediction 6-1 ,6-3,6-2 or triple ducks for chardy waste of time for those watching

Murray got lucky again with the draw what a surprise.
Are there any tornados forecast for the semis and final? How about a drug test.

Murray about Chardy:
"He has had two very good wins, one against Del Potro a couple of rounds ago, and the last time I played him in Cincinnati I lost to him," Murray said. "I've played him quite a few times. We grew up around the same time in juniors. We know each other pretty well. "The Cincinnati match was disappointing from my side. I normally play quite well against him. But he's playing good tennis. He's had some big wins this week. He serves well. He's very aggressive off his forehand. His backhand is his weaker side, for sure. He hits a lot of slice, doesn't come over it too much. He likes to come forward. "He can be erratic. But when his game is on, like it's been the last few rounds, he's a very tough player to play because he doesn't give you too much rhythm. And, yeah, he really goes for it." |

I don't know why I bother watching before the semis. Oh, what a surprise the top four seeds again.

Given their recent history (he beat Murray in straights at 2012 Cincy) and the form he's been showing here in Melbourne, Chardy is definitely a threat. He will serve big and hit huge forehands into the corners. Murray will need to up the ante, cut down on the high UE rate of his 4 previous matches and play at or near his best to counter this. If he does so, he should win. If he doesn't, its going to be very tough.
It's time to stop coasting and start playing like the #3 player in the world!

Chardy is playing super well. Has anyone actually watched him? He's serving great too. I have the feeling Murray in a slam will be too big a fish for him though but I wouldn't be surprised if he gave Murray a tougher match than Tsonga Fed. Chardy is in much better form than Tsonga this event. (That is assuming Chardy doesn't crumble mentally).

Yes, I've watched Chardy playing, singles and doubles, almost all of his performance, this whole Australian Open.
Come on! The guy only performed well in one match, the one that probably most of the guys who are hyping him saw, against Del Potro. And he choked pretty bad in the 4th and 3rd set. He has a powerful serve and a big forehand, okay, but he isn't on fire that often. He can mentally melt with a blink of an eye. |
