Raonic showed some guts are fought through and gave it the old college try. Good on him. We could use some more of that pluck in tennis.

And yet he is 100% sure to play in the Davis cup match next week.

I don't think he meant it as an excuse but whatever, I hope it's nothing serious, the guy's very prone to injuries.

Nadal went on to win on a fractured foot.

At this young age, he shouldn't be having such injuries. I am really not too sympathetic towards people who play sports and injure themselves.

Walking about the court of course your not getting hurt. But its different for ATP players. The make money playing.

The press have always been around the players. Giving out lame excuses has become the modern way rather than simply admit you weren't good enough. |

That should be true in any profession. If you are getting injured so early in your career, then it is a problem. Maybe you are not cut out for the sport. |

No.
1. Raonic's serve is as good as Inser's, if not better. Just look at last year's stats on service (1st % won, fastest serve, % games hold, 2nd serve won %, etc.) 2. Federer has had no problem dealing with Isner's serve in the past, so your statement doesn't stand true. 3. Raonic has put Feder into trouble more than Isner has with his serve (look at the match between Fed and Raonic in Madrid, Halle, and Indian Wells. That's three different surfaces clay, grass, and hard court), so I would say Raonic's serve is more effective especially against top players like Federer. |

Yeah this is Nadal-esque for sure. A bunch of excuses is all it is. Disgraceful.

If it's a WO the opponent doesn't get credit for a Win. Raonic was just being fair to Roger by opting to play the match.

Raonic started off fine today but you could see half way through there was something not right. And Fed also playing outstanding tennis just compounded everything.

Same as Simon vs Murray match.
Simon was too tired after winning Monfil. His body could not be recovered in time. He had many muscle cramps.
