Puget and Sarmiento are at 4-4 in the 3rd set. Sarmiento was up a break 4-2, but Puget came right back.

Campbell Johnson definitely would have started this year for us since we really don't have a clear cut favorite to play at 5 or 6 - just a bunch of guys that had an average fall season. Those guys may come around but Johnson at this moment is better than any of them. He beat Nunez 3 and 1 and Pieters 4 and 4 out there in Palm Springs.

Did Campbell transfer to be closer to home or because he thought he was going to be buried on the depth chart?

5-5 in Sherwood singles final.

Puget saved a break point to go up 5-4 and Sarmiento saved a match point to make it 5-5.

Probably a little of both. The guys they brought in this year were "supposed" to be higher rated than him but haven't performed as such. Nunez was a top 50 ITF Jr but he had an erratic fall, Austin Smith has been injured, and Wagland is the exception that's performed well.

Sarmiento breaks Puget to make it 6-5. Ray will now serve for the title.

Yes, and northern California is closer to home than Georgia is.
