Oh look how the Nadal fans doth protest!

There was a time when they said there's nothing wrong with Nadal's fist pumping and glaring.

I don't care about other sports, Djokovic has the most perfect tennis physique in history.

I agree. I've always thought a more leaner physique is best suited for tennis. Djokovic is lean yet strong.

Someone mentioned that two thirds of Serbian names end in VIC.
I thought it would be more but I'm wondering if a lot of the non VIC names are due to Serbs with non Serb fathers so not proper Serb names.
Any Serbs out there can help?

So a sport that celebrates diving and handballs (not to mention another set of rules for one crotchety old manager with 'Sir' in front of his name) should be the moral compass for tennis? LOL!

Novak's celebrations are sincere. No animals are hurt. Don't like it, turn away or change channels.

I guess if he paid for the shirt he can do whatever he wants within reason after the match is over, as long as he is civil about shaking hands. My only thought was I wonder what the sponsors think about treating their clothing like that. It sort of reminds me of someone smashing a racquet, altho the shirt doesn't cost as much. It would never occur to me to rip clothing after a win. I kinda like the dropping on the ground or the fist pumps, etc. The women scream enough they can save that for after the end, LOL But whatever floats one's boat ....

Perhaps a better question would be: how do the losing players feel about a given player's celebrations? If the loser is OK with it, then all of us getting up in arms is very ridiculous.

In either case, actual enforced sanctions would be beyond ********, unless they started masturbating with their racket or something.

Weak comparison. Fist pumping is nothing like shirt ripping and doing the 'Tarzan'

From Fed's presser

http://www.australianopen.com/en_AU/...841139244.html

Q. Regarding big muscles, we saw Djokovic ripping his shirt. What goes through your mind when you see a guy do this? Could you do this?

ROGER FEDERER: That's exactly what I won't do. Other guys do other things. I'm happy that we're not all the same.

I'm definitely not going to do that, especially with my little left arm. It would be a bit embarrassing to do that (laughter).

I wonder if he has his shirt specially made so they are easier to rip. Probably not though.

I'm really amused that 1/4 of this thread is about the roots of Serbian names. It's an interesting history lesson

Like just about everything we talk about here, whether or not we like the shirt ripping is pointless. If you don't like it, no argument in favor of it is ever going to change your mind and vice-versa.

no one can tell you for sure. but estimated guess is that around 2/3rds are surnames ending on 'ic'. where 'c' is actualy a 'ć' letter (its pronounced differently)

Did Federer rip his t-shirt(s) off after his 5 set match last night?
