I was just imagining the turmoil that would occur on this site if we ended up with a Federer-Ferrer final. It would surely be a weekend to remember.

This is interesting. I'm watching the doubles semi right now. Bryan bros vs. Bolelli/Fognini.
Seeing it played at this level, makes one consider playing doubles.

It would be the worst final in slam history. The board would be dead because there would be nothing to say about it other than the outcome being a foregone conclusion. |

Like Lance making the final doesn't make it a foregone conclusion?

It doesn't. Djokovic is the slight favorite but not the overwhelming favorite. Both Murray and Federer are capable of beating Djokovic. Whether they will or not in the final on Djokovic's best surface, remains to be seen.

When was the last time he won Wimbledon before he did it again in 2012 where he handily defeated both Djokovic and Murray? Djokovic is the slight favorite and Murray probably second favorite, but nothing is in stone and sh-t happens as we have seen from the Serena and Sharapova losses.

Exactly. Nothing to even discuss if that is the final, zzzzz. Nobody would even bother watching it, even most of the Federer fans would probably find it too boring to watch even with the guaranteed 18th slam, they would just watch the trophy presentation on youtube later, that is it. Not that it matters since the likelihood of Ferrer beating Djokovic on his favorite hard court are about on par with Ferrer beating his career master Federer in the final. Ferrers odds even against Murray on a non clay court would be about 10%, especialy considering on fire he went down pretty easily to a really subpar and then slamless Murray in the 2011 semi, and yet he is 10 times more likely to beat Murray than either of the other two.

I realize that but Federer has won the AO 4 times. No point in going back and forth here, I agree that Djokovic is considered the favorite but it is not impossible that Federer could beat Djokovic. Let's see if Federer can get by Murray first, that is the first big hurdle.

Yeah, like, where the hell did this come from? I never knew they were any good at double. I thought that Rojer was the only good doubles player we have. I hope they can win it, but beating the Bryans is going to take a small miracle to happen.

The Bryan Bros were pretty amazing, as were their opponents. Great to see unseeded players get to finals. Hopefully it will happen in singles at some point again.
Anyway, less than an hour from the Mens Singles Final. I have a feeling Murray will pull through.
