Thoughts on this frame with full poly?
-BHBR? -RPM Blast? -Alu Power Rough? -4G? |

Anyone try any lead at 3/9 with this frame? How much weight? Also, are there any synthetic cushioned grips that weigh as much as a leather grip? I am finding the leather grip to be a bit too hard for me.

Yes, I switched to a Wilson Shock Shield grip, and I think it is just as thick and probably weighs as much as leather with an overgrip.
Tried a softer setup, btw, with NXT Tour 17 strung at 50/48. Still getting used to it, but I think I like it. |

Wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for something easy on the arm, but if you're looking for performance I'd give it a try. |

Just got my 2011 Ltd. restrung. I use Kirschbaum Pro Line 11 17 g. I've been stringing it at 52 since I bought the Ltds and also used to string my microgel prestiges at the same tension. Just dropped it to 50. I definitely noticed the difference. Once the string warmed up, there was much more trampoline and power. I like it.
I've read a couple a couple of the posts in here that gut is the best for the stick. These sticks are really extremely low powered. I though my prestige mid was lower powered. The Ltd--I have one 2009 and one 2011- might be even moreso. I looked at the gut prices. That ain't gonna happen. The last time I used a syn gut, playing about two hours a day, three times a week, they didn't last long enough. I've only had these Ltds for about four months after three years with the prestiges. I'm still trying to find my way. What do you think the difference in feel and play would be between my current poly at 50 and a syn gut, were I to find and economical one I liked and put that in? |

As a follow up, played a little more with the above set up. It felt really good. Especially when switching back and forth with my IG Speed. I had much more control with the PSLtd. I may need to try a poly or co-poly around that tension, because I still feel a little lacking in spin.

Hey guys, I have a 2009 PSGT LTD and I can testify that although it is a demanding racket it was this feature that helped me work on my technique and style. I followed some suggestions in here and put 2 tourna lead stickers at 3 & 9 (3.5 gr each) and it improved a lot the stability of my volleys.
I was wondering what would be the impact of an additional sticker at 12 o' clock. Do the positives outweigh the negatives of such a move? |

Just know that lead at 12 bumps 3 swingweight points for ever 1 gram added. -Fuji

I am thinking of doing 4 grams at 3/9 and 1 gram at 12. How does that sound?

Alright, so I just did soemthing I normally do not do, but I did 2g each at 3/9/12. So basically 2g @ 12 and 4g @ 3/9. I will update when I take it out for a hit.

I would be very interested in your conclusions as the 3/9 combination has definitely improved lateral stability for me and would like to know what adding at 12 results into.

Ok, idk about specifics, but for starters all the lead around the frame opened up and softened up the whole frames sweet spot. I find it much more comfortable to swing now. Power lever is about the same, maybe a little higher, but it is very much more forgiving. Also the swing weight went up a little bit. Nothing too much to make a difference to me, I adjusted quick enough, but it is noticeable. Overall, I really enjoy the frame now, much better than stock. Any other specific questions, I am not great at giving out these types of explanations.

What is your setup? Right now I have 6g total, 2 at each spot, don't know if I should just keep it like that or add more.

well, I have at 3 & 9 a 3.5 gr sticker so adding one more at 12 will give a total of 10.5 gr on the head. I will try it tomorrow morning.

Ok played yesterday but it was a windy day. Anyway I lost two sets using my Youtek speed mp and then took the PSLTDGT and killed my opponent in the 3rd, the placement I can get with this racket is phenomenal!
But I found that it got considerably head heavier by adding ~3.6 gr at 12 so I opened the trap door and added two SS nuts of equal weight wrapped in some overgrip. Balance has been restored and my next test on court will take place on Thursday. |

Just decided on this stick on a hunch and I am glad I did. One of the few rackets that really reward you for swinging out. I have mine strung with the free hurricane feel at 40lbs. Which for as crazy dense as the string pattern is really doesn't feel all that low. I can only imagine what it feels like strung 55+.
I was wondering if any one had tried this frame with a thin poly at 30lbs or lower. I feel this would be a frame that is pretty string sensitive. I absolutely love the frame, with the exception on serve and a bit of flutter outside the sweetspot. So I am thinking with an 18g poly at about 30lbs, plus the addition of about 2-4grams of lead at 3-9 or 10-2, would take care of that. The balance is something that I want to keep as low as possible without weighing the static weight to much (right now stock with OG at 12.1oz). Would two grams be enough to sure everything up in your experience? Also would the lead be better placed at 3-9 or 10-2?

Personally I decided that lead at 3-9 is the best setup. I will remove the strip at 12 and the added weight in the handle as it has increased the swing weight considerably.

Played again today with ~4 gr at 3 & 9 each and I am definitely keeping this setup. This racket has made me improved my technique a lot and although I occasionally play with a HEAD youtek speed MP which is a very good one, it is the sound and placing I get with the PSGTLtd that keeps it my primary stick.
Just for variety I may get a used Wilson BLX ProStaff 6.1 95 to try, anyone with any experience on how it plays compared to the Babolat? |
