Default Recognized Location For Lead On Yonex Racquets

Hi guys. I think I read somewhere here that if you put lead tape on Yonex Rackets at around 10 and 2 it would improve it and unlock super special powers . Lol your racket turns into like a samurai sword. Well it is japanese ,so you never know. But really, Does anyone remember reading this or perhaps has benefited from your it. I play with the ezone xi 98 with poly tour spin 60/58. Thanks. Would love to test it out. Yonex users, where do you put lead, how much, and how long??

I had lead at 3 and 9; and also at 4 and 8 on my rqis 1 xl. I didn't like it at all, so I moved the lead that were at 3 and 9 to the 2 and 10 positions. It felt amazing. I'm in the processes of adding lead to my other racquet as well.

@majorslacker2012 thanks for the reply. The rqis xl 95 is a beautiful racquet. How much lead tape? How many stripes. What exactly improved vs having no lead or lead at the previous places?

I added about about 5.5 grams of lead tape. I was trying to match the specs of my old Prince Precision Graphite 640 that I used in high school without actually having the tools to measure swing weight. There is lead tape at the 2, 4, 8, and 10 positions 1/2 a gram each. I countered those weights by adding lead under the grip as well: 1 gram just above the butt cap, another 1 gram three inches higher, and 1 1/2 grams at the top of the grip where the finishing tape would be for your grip. Right now it weighs 346 grams (12.2 oz), but with an over grip it weighs 356 grams (12.6 oz). It matches the 356 gram weight of my Graphite 640.

Adding all that weight made the racquet A LOT more stable and gave me more plow through on my shots. I can now take big cuts at the ball and feel like I'm directing the ball with the racquet instead of feeling like the ball is controlling me. I have better control and confidence in my groundstrokes, volleys, and serves.

I hope that helps you figure out where to add lead on your racquet and how much of it.
