The contents of the drawer pictured will be reassigned to another drawer. I am awaiting the arrival of Sup2Dresq's contents. Not sure if they will be aligned with the same items in the Sup2Dresq's post!

Put my order in for some demos:
  1. Yonex VCORE 97 (310g)
  2. Yonex VCORE 97 (330g)
  3. Donnay Pro One 97 (16x19)
  4. Dunlop F3.0 Tour

I'm really looking forward to the Yonex frames. The others are just to fill out the 4 racquet order. Anyone have any Yonex contacts? If I like them, it will be real hard to change given the deal I can get on Pacific frames.

downs, if you have any interest in hitting w/ any of these, let me know & we can setup a hit when they come in (scheduled for Feb 1). Of course, if you want to hit before that, I'm game as well.

will demoing his racquet in two different versions allow you to play like Stan Wawrinka??

Depends. Are we talking Stan vs Djokovic from the other night? Or Stan vs Djokovic from 2012 US Open?

Honestly, I prefer NOT to customize frames, so I want to try the lighter version alongside the heavier version & see what I think. Heavier frames are usually my preference, but if the 330g is too heavy, I want to try the 310g stock, and maybe add some lead to bring up to 320g.

Mclovin,

"Look to the black and white cookie" for your answer.

P.s. I tried the 330 yonex and it felt really good. It made me hit flatter than usual, but the feedback was superb. Like being covered with butter ala Kramer

I'm the same way. I'd rather pick up a frame and start hitting with it rather than adding weight all over it.

Geoff is tirelessly working on the sups racquet of destiny (srod- need a new name).

As someone whose customized racquets before, having someone else do the work does wonders for you mentally.

Hopefully Geoff will post more pics.

P.s. to leather grip or not. Hopefully I will love it and buy several matching sticks! Just don't look for an eye patch.

Geoff: should i put in an order of 14 matching racquets?
Sup: yes 'but I don't wanna be a pirate!'

If anyone wants to shave length off of their racquet, here's possibly the best tool around:

OK, I get the Seinfeld reference, but is that in answer to my question about a Yonex contact? And if it is, assuming I'm the 'white' in the cookie, who's the 'black'?

Definitely a bit jelly (to use Sports Junkies lingo). Wish I had a Colorado trip planned this year, but it's not looking good.

Which reminds me...X-Games starts tomorrow night.

Lol. Now this is getting confusing. Like Elaine's boyfriends race.

P.s. I have a yonex contact down here.

The racquet is complete. I did not do a good job documenting the process. Here is an abbreviated summary of the process and work done.

Sup determined he wanted the 2008 Agassi specs of 355g/32cm/340SW and strung with Lux ALU Rough at 66lbs.

The racquet was measured for unstrung specs with a tournagrip which were 296g/32cm/279SW. Knowing that a set of Lux ALU Rough will change the static weight by ~18g, balance by 1cm and swingweight by 30, those numbers were added to the beginning specs. Sup wanted mass in the head of the frame so we did some trial and error of using the TW Racquet Customization tool to see what happens when adding weight at 12 o'clock. We settled on 4g at 12 o'clock. The new specs were used in the Customization tool along with the target specs to determine where to place the rest of the lead. The balance of the lead was placed as follows:

14.6g at 17.7 inches from the butt
22.4g at 5.9 inches from the butt

Inches were changed to cm to get more exact measurements. The grommets and bumper guard were removed and all lead was applied. There ended up being 2 layers of lead 4" long on the head, 4 layers of lead 7.3 inches long on each side of the head at 17.7 inches, 2 layers of 1/2 inch lead in 8 strips on the bevels at 5.9 inches.

Grommets were replaced, grip rewrapped, and the tournagrip was applied. Racquet was strung 2 piece head to throat at 66 lbs. Old school Head stencil (with red dot).

If Sup likes this frame, the future frames will be better documented. I am happy to answer any questions.

Awesome Geoff!

More good news for you. You'll be getting a lot more business from me if I follow Jimi's celebration ritual.

Well unless I run into the dreaded topaz f*cking Tiebreak.
