Pity Isner wasn't around to stop Nole with his monster serve at the SF stage because we all know what happened at last year's IW SF. |

Evne Isner can take pace of the serve and although the wind is an issue the moevement he is able to generate would make the serve even more unplayable for sure.
If only Ferrer had a serve half as good as John we would have had a more competetive match today |

If either Murray or Federer win in 3 tomorrow they might have a chance, a slight one. But I think they should give the trophy to Djokovic already... This isn't gonna end well for either of the other two.

The fact is that Murray is a more defensive player than Berdych and Novak and wind played into his hands because attacking player can not set up properly and where the ball bounces becomes a lottery Murray was able to revert to his old passive way in those conditions and it worked fair play to him for doing what he had to do, and I have no problem with a bit of wind but those conditions were crazy and not fit for professional tennis even DJokovic complained about his semi

Haven't you seen it too many times by now that simply because player A looks fabulous against player B today, this is no guarantee that A will look so against player C tomorrow? I have seen it so many times when a player looked clearly to be THE on-form player who was absolutely gunning his way through a tournament, only to get vanquished inexplicably around the next corner.

He didn't destroy him. Ferru took the first set in about half an hour - I was there. The conditions changed and went against him, and a lot of people believe that if they'd been playing on Armstrong at the same time MAndy and Berdych were playing their semi, in the same conditions, Ferru would have been in that final.

Calm down people. Ferrer is a mug that's all. Murray/Fed will pose a greater challenge than Ferrer, but yeah Djoko remains the favorite.

Basing this on the performance vs Punchbag-Ferrer?

I think Fed-Murray semi will be a tankathon to avoid humiliation from Nole in the finals. Remains to be seen who can convincingly tank

Well Fed has never lost to Djoko in a final of a major. At the same time it'd suck if he was a runner up to him

Actually you know what? Djoko is going for tying the record, so Fed will likely want to have it in his hands preventing Djoko from that. Fed will win the match...hopefully

From what I saw of the SF, Ferrer's shots were lacking depth.
SF in Doha + W in Auckland + 5-set QF = Poor showing in SF. I don't think this changes anything regarding the final. Nole was the favorite anyway, especially with his draw.
