Man.... did I just watch someone man-handle Ferrer openly in front of thousands?

I fell asleep at the start of the 5th set, woke up at 4-4 and sat through the rest as my mind was going crazy. Aussie time difference is killing me.

That's a semi-final? nope, that's a walk in the park for Novak. The ferret never knew what hit him, outclassed through and through. And that's a top 4 player? |

All I've got to say is that was a disappointing semi, really hoping tomorrow's will make up for this one.
Although we all knew Djokovic would win this on 3 sets, I was still hoping Ferrer would put up more of a fight. |

So much for Ferrer making Djoko tired for the final.
This was something more akin to a practice session than a match. |

Then after one set of it not working, try something else. It's not as if he didn't see that after the first set.

Now, whilst I don't always agree with everything Wilander says. I do agree with him, when he said that regardless of the outcome, in a situation like Ferrer is in, you must play the game you NEED to play to be competitive, and not the game that you WANT to play to be competitive. Ferrer played the way he WANTED to, not the way he NEEDED to.

No disrespect, but I am sorry - Ferrer is just not good enough to be a # 4 player in the world. There is a big gap between the top 3 and the rest right now. One guy will always get lucky in the draws - while facing Ferrer.
There needs to be someone who can elevate their game and get to what Nadal's level used to be. Otherwise going forward we'll have one boring SF in all the slams. |

he tried briefly to be more agressive during 2nd set. made a couple of UE and reverted back to his old self. it can kill your self confidence when nothing seems to work. so he just stuck to whatever he knows best. it didnt work.

People need to stop disrespecting Ferrer.
Is it his fault Nadal chooses to remain MIA from tennis after more than half an year? Is it his fault that he beat everyone in his way to get to the semis? |
