Man.... did I just watch someone man-handle Ferrer openly in front of thousands?

That's a semi-final? nope, that's a walk in the park for Novak. The ferret never knew what hit him, outclassed through and through. And that's a top 4 player? Now, imagine how much better the tennis would have been if Almagro's mind had not imploded? Ferrer had no business making the semi with the brand of tennis he was playing in the quarter. Shame for the entertainment aspect but nice gift for Djoko. At least, I don't have to worry about him being fresh in the final

All I've got to say is that was a disappointing semi, really hoping tomorrow's will make up for this one.

Although we all knew Djokovic would win this on 3 sets, I was still hoping Ferrer would put up more of a fight.

Have some pride man.
Except he lost because he went out of his way to play offensive, ? He made alot more error than he usually does. It's not easy to blast winners past one of the best defenders in the game when you're 1.75 meter and 73 kg.

So much for Ferrer making Djoko tired for the final.

This was something more akin to a practice session than a match.

You can be happy now. Djokovic is back and Roger will not beat him even if he beats Murray. NOTE: I don't mean to say that Roger will beat Murray but just pointed that you have less reasons to be worried about Roger winning another major

Surely missing by hitting out is preferable to being made fun off the same way repeatedly running after balls defensively point after point.
I agree. I switched off after the first set... People talk about Ferrer's tenacity, his never give up, get every ball back attitude. Has it occurred to him to try different tactics when his aren't working? Ridiculous.

Then after one set of it not working, try something else. It's not as if he didn't see that after the first set.

Ferrer's game is built around grinding. But once someone like Djokovic prevents him from doing that, the end result is obvious.

Now, whilst I don't always agree with everything Wilander says. I do agree with him, when he said that regardless of the outcome, in a situation like Ferrer is in, you must play the game you NEED to play to be competitive, and not the game that you WANT to play to be competitive.

Ferrer played the way he WANTED to, not the way he NEEDED to.

No disrespect, but I am sorry - Ferrer is just not good enough to be a # 4 player in the world. There is a big gap between the top 3 and the rest right now. One guy will always get lucky in the draws - while facing Ferrer.

There needs to be someone who can elevate their game and get to what Nadal's level used to be. Otherwise going forward we'll have one boring SF in all the slams.

he tried briefly to be more agressive during 2nd set. made a couple of UE and reverted back to his old self. it can kill your self confidence when nothing seems to work. so he just stuck to whatever he knows best. it didnt work.

We need Rafa to come back ASAP. Ferrer is no substitute (on top of being in his 30s).

People need to stop disrespecting Ferrer.

Is it his fault Nadal chooses to remain MIA from tennis after more than half an year?

Is it his fault that he beat everyone in his way to get to the semis?
