I stopped following tennis closely around the time I had kids so I missed out on most of his prime years. I'm glad he's still in it and still so often the man to beat even has he gets a little older. My favorite player is Djokovic, and I'm happy that the thought of him facing Roger always scares me.

As a person, he's been an inspiration to me in my life. The attitude of self-belief, getting up and dusting oneself off, respect for others even in a tough competitive environment and finally for the sport, it's history, his predecessors are all very very admirable things in my book. Sure, some people prefer more primal characters (physically and attitude-wise in terms of competitiveness) or don't care for some of the things I listed above - and that's fine; I've come to appreciate that it takes different kinds to make this world, not everyone is going to share my views and they're not wrong from their perspective. I've learned to value and respect my own likes more in the process. |

I like how fans think someone else's success translates to them.
Strange. |

Your spending your time reading about another fan think someone else's success translates to them. Which is more pathetic by your logic. Shouldn't you be out doing somethings successful ?

He's got it sweet. So glad he seems like a really nice guy too.
The only thing left to achieve is beating Rafa at the FO.

The reason I'm a Federer fan is because he's one of the few players with variety in this somewhat 2hbh era where everyone is just a clone if each other and grinds from the baseline. I'm gonna savour Fed's tennis while it lasts. Win or lose.

I like Fed not because of his achievements but how he play tennis. I have learned the most from Fed, some from Nadal, very little from Nole of how to play tennis.
