The heel area got a lot worse and I put a hole in the toe so took them back to the Asics store who said they wouldn't replace them but they sent them off to head office to see what they think. Gonna argue it out them for a bit. You guys in the US have it so easy.

I thought there's no warranty in the UK?

If they think the shoes have worn unduly quickly they'll replace them, but the guy I spoke to on the phone said proving that is pretty much impossible although to get the shoes sent in and they'd take a look.

How long's it been mate? Yeah, he we get 6 months but only because that's a condition of sale. With all non-warranty shoes, sole wear would almost always not be covered unless it was within a couple of weeks ie. a defect.

If your country shoe company does not offer a warranty, there is no reason to replace your shoes since it's not defective.
Offering Warranty is marketing strategy in US since many of Tennis players use hard courts.

Five months. I know there's no warranty and they're under no obligation to replace them but just thought I'd give Asics customer service a bit of a workout and see if I can argue my way to a new pair.

They only got sent to the head office on Monday - haven't heard back yet but I'm expecting them to get in touch next week at some point. I'll let you know what happens.

How long is the warranty for Nike shoes, can't seem to find it on their site.
I found on the Asics site of my country that they have a 12 month warranty.
It says they will replace it if there are material or product defects. It also says that quality problems caused by normal wear do not constitute a defect and will not be replaced.
But seeing all the pics of the shoes in this thread, most of it seems normal wear to me (if you play with a shoe on hardcourt for a few months in my experience it's normal the soles are worn out.
So I'm a little confused why you would get a new pair/refund.
The problem I'm also having with recent Nike shoes (vapor 8 as well as 2k12) is that the loops through which the laces have to go just snap after a few weeks.
I mean the yellow loops in that picture. Would it be possible to get a refund for those loops snapping after a few weeks?
I'll post some pictures of some of my recent shoes tomorrow so you might have a better idea of what I'm talking about.

As stated ad-nauseum, the U.S. has a separate outsole warranty that covers wear and tear for 6 months. Nothing to do with defects. Europe does not have this.

As re the loops snapping, if it happened after only a few weeks (3-6) then yes it will be covered for sure under the defect warranty no matter where you are.

So basically if you play enough you only have to buy one pair of shoes and than you're set for life .
Yep, during match season the first one breaks in less than a month.

Sorry, don't have time to read 33 pages and I didn't see it in the 4ish pages I scanned. Maybe if the OP reads this he can put it in his first post .

Unfortunately not. Can only claim once per purchase. It does half the amount of shoes I go through though so can't complain. If I lived in Europe I'd only wear Barricades as they're the toughest I've worn.

Hey guys I'm an extreme toe drager, I like to run around my backhand a lot as I fit into the typical American player mold. The toe on my right shoe(I'm right handed) is worn down on my 4.3s almost to where the Ortholite insert is showing, but on my left shoe it has barely started to change color. Would Nike accept this or would they not because of the left?
