Agreed. Chardy looks great. The shoes clearly bring winning, style and happiness to one's life.

By now is official, everyone who used that shoe fell to Murray. If you're planning to play him, don't use this colorway :P

Was it only Chardy and Federer who wore those Vapor's at this year's AO? If thats the case, Murray must hate the colorway just as much as I do.

Regardless of the strategies against Murray, this had to be Fed's biggest blunder at the AO '13. Pink shoe laces???? Definitely Chic rather than chic (trendy). Did anyone ask Fed about this during an interview?

A silver or light blue heel/tongue (to match his day polo) would have been really beautiful. Pink isn't ugly, but it's for a small niche. I like the idea of keeping the color in the back unlike those damn volt triangles from early 2012, but the colorways coming up don't appeal to me.

Got them from a local shop. The owner thought that no one would buy it because it was pink. However, when I ordered it from him, he was surprised. Got a good deal with these

Default Almost certainly not the last word on the pink

I liked Fed's day AO kit. Including the shoes. And I'd wear all of it, except for the fact that the shoes would cost me $130-ish USD for the shoes and half of everything else for the divorce that would result from my purchase of another pair of shoes.

But I'll say this: the ideas that people have--adding a different color tongue, or making a pink accent shoe that matched the day AO RF polo--proves to me that the Vapor ID program has WAY too few color choices and far too few customizable parts.

I'd love to ask a Nike manufacturing exec why the limited choices. The Kobe shoes have more choices (I didn't do the math but the permutations must be well over 100K more possibilities) and more expensive materials.

Perhaps if they did a better job of marketing tennis in the states, they'd sell more shoes.

And like someone said above in the thread, I'll get mine when they are on clearance.

There are many reasons why the Vapor 9 iD has so little options. Just a few of my reasons

#1 Almost everybody in the states doesn't really care about tennis unfortunately.
#2 They're Kobes, do you think a TENNIS shoe would have as many options as a famous baller?

#3 Too similar to #1, but a small market is another reason. Tennis is a sport where you have the modern dudes with all there new Nike stuff etc.., and you have the older generations that still use oscillates and mids as tennis shoes. Most people still don't even know that it's called the Vapor, most of the people I know refer to it as the federer shoe.

LOL! Well played.

While the choice are limited, I still find it hard to believe that the people bringing it up can't find 1 option that they like. When I get mine on Wednesday, if the quality appears to be ok - and no one on these boards says their aren't well put together - I'll get a 2nd pair. I guess if there is a pair later in the year you like better, that would be a better reason not to order any Custom Ids.

And just so you know, many of the generic running shoes (I know, not tied to a star) have limited Custom Id options too.

Yep, on-court interview after his 2nd or 3rd match I think.
He said he liked it because he already had had many other colors. He also said the pink shirt a few years ago sold pretty good.
Personally I liked the colors but not everyone can pull them off .

Is it me or does the non-Fed version of this shoe appear to be a lighter pink than his in the heel?
