I(junior player) am currently using a APD 2013 with full bed some random synthetic gut strings and I have broken these strings once every week and a half for about a month. Next time i'm probably going to try a poly hybrid, any suggestions?

I'll open the bidding with SPPP or Outlast with 16g Syngut crosses @52/56.

I'm a junior aswell and poly hybrids are great I've tried a lot of strings my favourite so far is Pro's Pro Blackout with Pro Supex Spiral Flex at 50/55...if you cant get Blackout use Tecnifibre Blackcode instead

BHB7 17/OGSM 17 Of course this is for spin. My first suggestion was a bit bland considering OP is coming from 'random syngut'.

Mikeler,
As for your Thunderblast 16 suggestion for a hybrid cross, bravo! Been doing wonders for me with MSV Hex 1.23 in the mains at 52 pounds on my X-2 machine. I bought a set of the white (natural?) Thunderblast to do a side by side. I think I remember you saying that the white version was a good bit softer and that you preferred it to the black (not only because it doesn't stain the ball) Thanks again! |

The black version treats me well and I think that I'm going to get a reel. The black version softens the poly just the right amount for me whereas the white version is comfortable but not my favorite. |

My current setup is Blast with Beast XP. I have to restring my racket again after 6 hrs of play. Last edited by SJSA : 02-24-2013 at 01:37 PM. |
