Federer's hairline has receded just as much as Murray's. It would be more noticeable if he didn't have those long, wavy bangs and didn't wear that headband so often.

Guys, this part has been edited out of every ESPN replay of the match I can find. It's also been pruned off of YouTube as well.
I watched that point and Murray didn't "stop" during the point. I saw the video while it was still up and I really do think Fed said "You fu**ing Scot!" Lol Why else would there be so much cleanup of this incident in videos vs past occurrences of sh**, etc. that are all over the place. I think it's his PR group trying to cover this up. Big deal, they should have left it. This sort of stuff happens. Heck, I've cussed my friends out on court and then we've gone out to eat afterwards and laughed it off. What happens on court stays on court. It's like Vegas. |

I hope some journalist launches an investigation into any possible cover up. If Fed was found to have influenced this, I would lose all respect for him. |

Talk about conspiracy theories! So funny! You've got to be kidding me. The guy said the f-word. It's not like he killed someone. Please people, let's get some perspective here.

So what I have learned in this thread is that Murray hooked up with Lendl, and that Murray and Federer were checking each other out in the fourth set of their match after Federer yelled something at him, according to Federer. Interesting.

Fed was about to lose, Murray serving for the match just three points away from the win, zaps a forehand winner by Fed and Fed shouted something across the net to Murray who smiled it off but he became clearly rattled by it and lost the game and the ensuing tiebreaker. Clearly Fed, surprised Murray with whatever he yelled at him as it was very uncharacteristic of the genteel Fed who portrays himself as the ultimate sportsman. It seemed a desperate play of gamesmanship to fluster Murray and it worked though Murray denied it rattled him in the press conf. Murray would not reveal the exact words by Federer.
This was a very interesting aspect of the match, to see Federer behave this way was shocking to say the least.

He did seem to say what "SStrikerR" suggests in his post above. I don't know for sure. Most replays edit out the juicy bits of players swearing. So puritanical.
I don't know whether it was a subtle pause after the ball hit the line, or if it was Murray stopping his service motion on the first serve of that point (he faulted when he did end up serving, so the point was played from a 2nd point anyway). I think it was more out of frustration and competitiveness than a specific thing Murray had done. Anyway, there are already several threads on this, but i don't blame you for starting this one as those don't discuss the incident, rather they deteriorate into fanboism.
