I say, 5%.
I don't know about all of you, but I'm sick of all these possums on tour. "Waaaah, I just fell and it HURRRTS. Mommy, I have a booboo." "Waaaah, I just rolled my ankle! OW!!!" And then they limp around the court against one of the very best players on the entire planet, and continue to compete, winning games, sets, and even matches. It's just so lame, and makes tennis players look like real p******. I believe Murray may have been in pain in this one, but he's cried wolf so much that I can't help but roll my eyes again. I would estimate 95% of all tennis "injuries" aren't even injuries at all. They're players who need a band-aid and are milking it for all it's worth. These guys act like they're in some video game and are losing "power" every time something happens. "Uh oh, energy level down to 76%. NOOOOoooo! Need to find a power up, fast!" |

5% may actually be somewhat accurate. Faking injuries seems to have become a sophisticated tactic of deception. Nadal may be the best at it. Knee injury timeout while losing vs. Petzschner at Wimbledon and last year's "worst pain ever" before day one of the tourney in the elevator - then he plays a six hour final two weeks later.

John McEnroe said it best, "It's been scientifically proven that injuries hurt more when you are losing."

Hell yeah, it can be the first point of the match and if he dumps it into the net or sprays it out, he's going to grab his leg and act like "OH GOD! SOMEONE SHOT ME IN THE LEG! There's a sniper in the stadium!"

RAFA'S INJURIES ARE THE ONLY ONES THAT ARE LEGITIMATE.
don't believe me? then why does he ALWAYS lose when these injuries are brought to light? its even more foolproof knowing rafa never loses when he's at 100%. RAFA will soon come again to judge the djoker and the fed. |

Nadal did not limp once or call an injury time out vs. Rosol. Nor did he tape the supposedly injured knee.
If there aint no flames or smoke or a scent of smoke, there aint no fire.

I don't think the injuries are fake, but everyone has little niggling injuries and, like someone said earlier, they hurt more when you're losing.

I thought the delay after the 4th set was because they were closing the roof due to poor light? I don't remember an MTO but if he did have one it was most likely his own people in the locker room while they waited for the roof to close. He didn't look injured to me.
