watched your boys semi & final last year...great effort. It will obviously be tougher to step it up but that is what Luke Saville & all the other guys are doing this year.I honestly believe it is getting tougher as a lot of guys are staying in longer & the pool of good players is enormous. good luck with this forum. You definitely need a bs filter to get through some of the postings here...main thing is you keep your sense of humour. |

Guys. The guy already answered questions about PEDs. There are several another threads to discuss PEDs in detail. This is not the place imo.
Filip, do you play any other racquet sports like Squash, Badminton or table tennis?

Seriously guys, no more doping questions. I've answered them already, and I don't want anything to do with that kind of topic. I'm just going to keep ignoring those posts.

Yeah I like to play table tennis, but I've never played squash or racketball before.

Haha I don't know if I would feel good about doing a celebration like that, I'd feel like a jerk. Not quite my style. I don't like wrecking perfectly good shirts either :P |

Good for you. I've always felt Djokovic is a very gracious loser but a terrible winner.

Hi Filip!
You've completed the three Futures clay events in South Florida...I was wondering if you have graded yourself on the busy schedule they presented to you...all three main draws and the one qualie you played. There was quite an array of talent across the net and in the draws in general...up-and-comers such as yourself and Fratangelo and veterans trying to rebound (Ginepri). Was this the toughest talent pool you've run up against? What's your take on the green clay? Is it a surface you prefer or dislike? From a previous post, you're back to Canada for DC...what's the schedule after that? Good luck for you and the team!

Hi Filip,
Thanks for answering the questions, this is a really interesting thread. You seem like a really sincere down to earth guy. I'll definitely be pulling for you in your matches... As long as you're not playing Fed. What's your opinion on stringing poly at really low tension (sub 40 lbs)? I know some pros have started stringing that low. Have you given it a shot and what did you think of it? Good luck in 2013! |

Hi Filip,
this is my son playing here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YaErzXIPdEk Were you as good as him back then? He would like to know, how much did you practice and compete when you were his age? Did you ever play orange or green balls? Were you always the best at your age group in Canada? He wishes you good luck on the tour and will cheer for you! |

At this time of the year how do you calibrate your goals? There are nine months until the end of the season, three grand slams and all the Masters series tournaments still to play. Do you set overall objectives for the year, or limited objectives for say the next three months, or a combination of the two, and what roughly do your objectives look like?
And how do you think about your training? Do you periodise over say the next three months, or the next six months, or the next year? And finally, how do you stay mentally tuned for year ahead? There are a lot of matches, a lot of travelling, a lot of conditioning to do. How do you stay as mentally sharp as you need to be to manage it all? CC |
