I would think that a main string can only shift so much before it starts to stretch, and the more it stretched then reset the more spin it would get. Polyester isn't even close. You are assuming the snapping back of the mains puts spin on the ball. Nothing puts as much spin on the ball as a hard court does and there is no movement in the court at all.
