http://bestofcalvinandhobbes.com/wp-...pectations.png he will most probably be playing next week but he says it still hurts.

He said that certain movements are still painful, but he expects it to go away with play.

I still say silent ban is a possibility. He may not even play in Chile.

That knee will probably bother him in some way forever. Small price to pay to live the life of a beloved, handsome millionaire for the rest of his life? Maybe.

I think it will hurt until he retires.
The issue is how much it hurts, and whether it is structurally sound enough to play. Nagging pain is something a lot of players deal with. Sometimes they probably shouldn't, but they do. Last edited by bluetrain4 : 01-30-2013 at 12:39 PM. |

My head still hurts after so many years of reading about knadal's knees.
Me thinks he should go visit a competent naturopathic doctor to remedy his condition. Modern medicine has failed this young man miserably - PRP comes to mind. It's time he considers acupuncture (not even as painful as PRP injections), some chiropractic manipulation such as vertebral subluxation and a steady treatment of magnetotherapy. Magnetotherapy-type bands can be worn over the knees, thereby strengthening his musculature in that area and since he's been wearing knee bandages for so long, shouldn't be uncomfortable. |

I agree. He has chronic structural problem on his knee and ankle. As I recall he uses orthotics. He has had this kind of injury break from tour since he was a teenager. |

Of course he says it still hurts - so if he loses it was because of the knee, and if he wins he's a hero warrior - a giant among men - because he played through the intense pain.

The key is he needs to give his body more short breaks. It will be an ongoing problem. Stupid for him to play 3 tournaments in a month. But Nadal tends to do dumb things like this.

He should just retire if his knees are that bad that even a very long break didn't heel them propertly. Why continue if you're not healthy?

He's gonna try his best to come back, despite the pain. That's all he can do at the moment. I hope he knows he has his fans' 100% support in this endeavor, no matter what the outcome happens to be.

Rafa appreciates that you think he's gorgeous, he will climb any mountain, swim any ocean, wrestle alligators just for you.
