Hi,
Could you guys recommend me a few frames that are similar to the KPS 88 in terms of feel, flex and plow through? I'm an all-court player, and I'm probably a 4.5. I'm currently using two 90-squared-inch Vantage frames with the following specs when strung: 364g, 31.5 cm, and about 340 for swing weight. I used to love my Vantage frames, and I thought I would never want to switch. But lately, as I've gotten into a better shape, I love the KPS 88. When I hit the ball cleanly, the way the frame flexes and the raw feel I get from it are addicting. I just can't put it down. I've tried to modify the Vantage frames to match the setup of my KPS 88 in terms of swing weight and balance. But it was unsuccessful. The Vantage frames became sluggish and muted. Even though their flex was listed as 60, they were not flexible, or they did not flex at contact like how the KPS 88 did. Thank you for your help. |

Seems like the BLX Pro Staff 90 would be the obvious answer...

You should be able to find these in the used marketplace.
I don't think that there's anything out there like the KPS88. It's 90 sq inches, box-beam and HEAVY and the market has been running away from those things lately.

I don't think you will find something with that kind of plow through. The closest I have tried is the Dunlop 4D 200 Tour but that one has bigger head.

You're looking for a fake KPS88. Those babies had a noticable flex to them. The one Wilson makes... stiff as hell.
Don't believe me? Look at the PWS. Is is dully protruding like the 90 or is it sharply protruding?

I bought it from TW, so I don't think it's a fake. And the weight and balance of my KPS 88 are pretty much in line with what TW advertised.

Then you have to clarify if you want people to provide you with the right racket recommendation. You're looking for the soft, plush flex of a Pure Drive.

I honestly don't think KPS88 is similar to Tour/Pro Staff 90's at all.
Tour/Pro Staff 90's are scalpels. KPS88 is a bat. |

The 88 was one of the stiffest frames Wilson has ever made. One of Wilson's Arm Killer Series (TM) of frames. There is no "flex" anywhere in that frame. Hit centered/off-centered, the frame is completely rigid.

Naw, I give that title to the original Pro Staff 6.1 Classic.
